    National Stereo

    Hey guys,

I was eager to purchase the national treasure movies until I saw both were only in stereo. Do we know if Disney will start releasing HD versions of their moves on Vudu for purchase in 5.1? Secondly, those who have purchased the national treasure movies, how's the sound quality and is it truly in stereo?

It probably doesn't, but I was just showing that the movie is available in DD5.1 and HD.

I can't answer whether VUDU will be providing it in HD/DD5.1, but suggesting that they should because it is distributed that way. If they can't, they should be looking for a different distributor. All I can say is that unless they do, I'll be watching it from somewhere else. SD/Stereo doesn't cut the grade for this type of movie.

I also looked on DTV PPV, but couldn't find it at all. And I sold my ATV, so I can't say one way or the other if they offer it.

National Treasure 2 sounded great with DTS Master Audio on the Blu-ray Disc. The National Treasure 1 BD had PCM audio.

The stereo is truly stereo and if you have a good ProLogic or Neo6 processor, it will be quite good - not as good as DD but satisfactory.

As for HD, it's up to Disney to decide if they want to provide HD licenses to Vudu.

Vudu is not designed to be your only source for movie experience. It's designed to give you more choices.

Thought so. Either way, I don't mind having Vudu as my main delivery system. Actually it works out quite well that way.

Right. This thing is in its infancy and I firmly believe that once studios see electronic VOD as making a positive impact to the bottom line that we'll get all these annoyances straightened out.
