      Re: 1.5 ? Bueller ?

Can I make a request ? Don't send out a newsletter saying 1.5 will be out 'next week' and then delay it without any further information. Once you give a date it would be nice if you gave us updates on why the delays.

We all know and appreciate that delays/unexpected things occur and want smooth releases. The delay isn't the problem, the lack of information after giving a release date is what is not good PR .. Just a thought

That's what happens sometimes during software development. The development group tells the PR people that the latest software golden master (GM) is being released to the beta team. Generally when this happens the release is imminent so the PR people release the info. Then a major bug is found in the GM and a new build needs to be made, redistributed and tested again.

I'm not saying this is what happened but is the sort of thing that can happen...

          BOX UPDATING NOW!

It looks like my box is updating as I write this. Both LEDs are green! Let's see what is new when I check it later today.

It's supposed to roll out today we've been told.

As stated, the biggest thing is the extended rental feature. There's some other new items as well that we'll let you discover or we'll let JohnA from Vudu post the release notes...

He redid the post as it wasn't appearing properly. So that link is broke.

                          Thanks!!!

Took a quick look at 1.5 and the improvements are good ones.

But I have to say I'm still really miffed why VUDU can't make the info screen identical to the detail screen. I still have to press 3 extra buttons to get the info I'm looking for.

Here's an example of what I mean:

                          Go to New to Rent

A vertical title list shows on the left of the screen. The first title is "The Golden Compass"

On the right side of the screen is a detail decription for this title. But it doesn't show whether it's HD, Fullscreen, Stereo, or Surround.

So I have to hit the select button on the title

When I do, it displays "exactly" the same description, but now includes extra info about the movie: running time of 1 hour 53 minutes, 2007 PG-13, Surround Sound, Enhanced Widescreen, New Line Cinema, and English

Then I have to hit the back button to get back to the new to rent list again.

It really makes no sense to me why the detail screen shown on the New To Rent list can't be exactly the same as the detail screen that is shown when you select the title. I'm getting carpel thumb syndrome from doing it so much.

                            No Worries!!

Another thing I found a little quirky, is that when you go to Explore HD, the default is to display the first title in the list.

If hadn't read your release notes, I would not have figured out that the list could be sorted. I had to hit the up arrow once to get to the sort, then (I think) I had to hit the enter button to show the sort options.

Don't know if that was by design or not, but if I had a hard time figuring it out, then a caveman probably would too.

Well since the slogan, "So easy a caveman could do it." has been taken by a company with a Gecko as their mascot, Vudu couldn't use that line. So if we can't use that line then why make it easy for a caveman.

I think you should add an extra main menu button called "My Insurance". That way in addition to selling movies, you could make some extra chump change brokering insurance for cavemen !!

(I think the sales term is either an additional "Sales or Revenue Channel".)
