    network error and constant buffering

Last night I purchased the second half of the second season of "The Walking Dead" and have been tearing my hair out since!!! I have waited so patiently for the season to end so that I could sit down and have myself a fun "Dead" marathon, but all I get is network errors and constant buffering. No program should buffer 40 times in 45 mins of video!! HELP!!! My netflix is having no problem streaming, so I am sure it is not an issue on my end. I really want to watch them, but if this keeps up I may be better off having my money refunded and waiting until it comes to dvd. *sad face*

I checked your streaming sessions and your bandwidth seems to be a bit low for SD. Do you know what speeds you're paying for from your ISP?

SD needs a consistent connection at or above 1MBPS.

Neflix does not require as much bandwidth for standard def. It will adjust on the fly to the point where you can see pixelation; at least in my experiences with it in the past.

Honestly, I don't know what speed I am paying for, except that it is the best that my service provider (AT&T) provides.

You can use this website to measure the bandwidth you are getting. Make sure you are not streaming or downloading when you run the test. You can also call AT&T to find out what speed you have.

We have a speedtest that should give you a basic idea of the bandwidth your capable of pulling from our servers as well.

My Sony Blu Ray player has a speedtest, too. It's part of the vudu app. Is that standard for any hardware that has vudu built in?

For most devices, not all. I think there are still some Samsung devices that do not have the VUDU speedtest. The Xbox might not either at this point. Each may have their own speedtest built-in.

5213kbps download speed, while my kids were streaming netflix (they were already watching it so i just tested anyway)... does upload speed matter at all for me?

Re: network error and constant buffering

Just ran the test a second time (after logging in, LOL) and while netflix is streaming on a device connected to my network. My second result is 4983kbps. I am sure this issue is not on my end of things, as both tests are WELL over minimum limit your site says is needed to stream SD.

How do you access vudu? Is it through a wired or a wireless connection? Are you watching on a computer or a blu ray player, etc?

I watch on my bluray which has a wired connection to my router.

Re: network error and constant buffering

Is your router and your modem the same piece of equipment, or are they 2 separate pieces? If they are separate, but in the same location, try plugging the blue ray directly into your modem. You'll probably have to power down and turn on your blu ray after doing so. See if your issue is resolved. I wonder if you could have issues with the router not playing nice with the blu ray. If you're pulling down 4,800 - 5,000 in the speed test, you should be able to stream at least the SD.

modem/router is one piece. Nothing has changed since I purchased and watched the first half of the season, several months ago. I was able to watch all of those with no problem. this problem is new, and as far as I can tell has nothing to do with any problems in my equipment.

I'm having the same issue. I am using a PS3 for streaming. My internet connection is 17Mbps (according to speedtest.net). It's frustrating. When I try to test my connection I get a network error message as well. I was just trying to watch an SD movie and it keeps buffering and the errors out. I was able to watch one movie once without issue. Just one.
