My Connection to VUDU is down

My Connection to VUDU is down, is anyone else having the same problem? It says it was "UNexpectedly disconnected from the server". This is from bith my VUDU boxes.
My 50/20 FiOS connection still hits max speeds at some of the test sites.

edit: I just tried rebooting one box and it still has the same result.

I guess no movie from VUDU tonight.

I know they were battling some DNS issues earlier, you might want to call customer service and see if they can resolve this for you.

        Looks fine from here?

Sure it's not a problem with your home network? I was complaining about an outage earlier this week that turned out to be a switch gone bad in my entertainment center.

No problem. I have a TiVo and an Hd DVD player on the same switch that has internet access. Plus it's both VUDU boxes. They both receive their IP address from my router fine.
I did notice that my IP address changed from FIOS today. The last three sets of numbers in the ip address are different.
Would an IP address be blocked by the VUDU servers for some reason?

I'll try releasing and renewing the IP address to see if it will change again.

I got it to change, but only the last set of numbers is different.
The new IP address is now 96.231.157.238.
Is there anything weird with this IP address? The last one ended with 74.

That did it. I see the VUDU boxes network LED is now green. Why would that one IP address not let me connect to the VUDU servers?

Who knows. But let's look at it this way:

Your box probably connects occasionally to the servers to tell it's IP address and so forth and 2 way communications is established. If your IP address changed and the Vudu had just sent the old IP address info to the server, it may be trying to talk back to you at the wrong address and so nothing goes through. The box may sit there waiting for x amount of time before sending the IP update again.

I'm not sure how the protocol works but I've seen things work like this with other systems. Things can get hinky right after an IP address change.

Maybe Greg could comment if he has time!

I don't think it has to do with that IP in particular. It probably has something to do with the change in IPs. I'll have to chat with a couple of colleagues to try and understand what could have happened, but as far as I know it's a situation that's supposed to be taken care of. Pretty odd. Glad it's working for you now, though.
