    navigation suggestions

I have been using Vudu for 3 -4 months not with good success. Picture and sound quality is great and I have had no issues as my internet connection in my home is about 8 meg. One thing that drives me crazy is the navigation and menu. why can I not get a list of all "new releases" and not "new to vudu". I really don't care about the 1000 moves that get added from the 1980's like Ghost Busters and so on. I am really only interested in real "New Releases" and it is a pain in the A#@ to sorth thru the old junk to get to what I am looking for. How about a selection for "New Releases" and have a drop down that says "This Month" "Past 60 days" past 90 days" and so on...

Please,,, fix the navigation so it makes more sense... no one cares about movies from the 1980's getting added to the library - people just expect that that stuff to be there! If I ditch VUDU for another system this will be the reason.

I understand what you are saying and it is a good suggestion to be able to see a list of new releases. I would caution however against saying things like "noone cares about ...". In this particular case, I care more about what movies are available on Vudu this week that weren't last than whether or not they are new releases in the DVD sense. So I think they should make it easy to do what you are asking without taking away what is already there.

I get what your saying, I am ok with keeping what is there and adding a better menu system to achieve what i suggested. My point about the old stuff is that people already expect that all the old content should be there like netflix; pointing out that ghost busters 47 is now available is a bit sad; that content should already be there...

We do have a way of doing this. What you can do is go into Explore Catalog, Explore By Genre, then where it says "5765 by Top Picks", change that to Release Date. This will sort the entire catalog by when the movies were released.

Furthermore, if you click on filters, then release date, you can sort by last 6 months, last 12 months, 2000's, 90's, 80's, etc.

Thats a pretty broad assumption that "every older movie ever made..." is already there. I've yet to see this with NetFlix, Cable, Satellite, or even VUDU.

I do care when older movies from the 50's, 60's, and 70's are added. I would have never known that "The Omega Man" was on the VUDU except that I saw it on the New On VUDU option.

I also use the "Release" date filters on the Genre search like JohnA suggested. If I want something from the last 6 months its easy to select and build the list.

But I would like to have the ability to save filters to reduce the number of clicks I have to do with the remote.

Correct. JohnA beat me to it here. Vudu has tremendous sorting, filtering and Navigation features. I use the "last 6 months" or "last 12 months" release date filter all the time.

I agree with the mods -- using the Explore ___ and release date filter is good enough.

Personally, I actually use Explore HD most of the time, but I do check out New on Vudu and Coming Soon to wish-list certain titles.

There is also a short-cut to see the most popular 20 new releases; the poster strip on the "New on Vudu" page shows them.
