feature request: sd to hdx upgrade

If I own a sd version I'd like to be able to upgrade it to HD for the price difference.

Assuming the HD version is for sale, why not do this? This is especially nice because somethings that are only available on SD now might be HD later, this means I won`t just wait for it - or buy the blu ray instead.

We'll make sure to pass this along to the proper people!

I second this. I have quite a few redeemed titles that are in SD that I want to upgrade to Hi-Def. You will get more of my money if you offer an upgrade.

Re: feature request: sd to hdx upgrade

Put me down for this as well. I have a couple of SD movies in my collection that, after watching them, I wished I'd purchased the HDX version instead. I'd have no problem paying a simple upgrade fee.

Same here; without an upgrade option, I'm not going to pay for D2D for any movie that's available in SD only (if it's something that I might ever want to watch in HDX, which is most movies).

I'm also holding on to movies that are only available in SD. They are in my "not available for D2D" pile.

Re: feature request: sd to hdx upgrade

Vudu is losing money every day that this is not available. It seems so odd that this is not a feature already.

                Hook us up!

While you are at it add better sorting options also.

                    This would be FANTASTIC!

Vudu, please make this happen. SD to HDX for a reasonable upgrade fee would be PRIMO!

Re: feature request: sd to hdx upgrade

I must agree completely... If one has already paid the SD price and wishes to then upgrade to HD or HDX, it seems like one should be able to pay the difference.

Personally I'm rather disgusted that many studios have decided to include only "SD" quality UV or digital copies with Hi Def releases on Blu-Ray. In my opinion, if one pays the money to purchase something like a Blu-Ray or even a Combo Pack (more $$, typically) one shouldn't be relegated to SD-only viewership. If one bought a DVD, fine, I suppose. But Blu-Ray? Pfft!

Anyway, mark me as another vote for "pay the difference" rather than "double dipping".

I would love this as well. As a matter of fact, this is the whole reason I made a forum account.

I have the first 2 batmans in SD that came bundled with a steel book bluray edition of the movies. I want them all in HDX. I bought the dark knight trilogy on bluray today thinking I would at least get them all upgraded to HDX but that didnt happen, it only gave me the HDX version of Rises, the other two it ignored since I already had them. This is kind of BS as if I didnt have the SD versions I would have recieved the HDX versions with this bundle.

You should got HDX from the steal books from the beginning. Have you contacted Vudu support yet about not getting HDX from the Trilogy? You can take your Batman Begins and The Dark Knight blu-rays to Wal-mart for D2D. I know you probably don't want to pay again for the movies.

I D2D Batman Begins and The Dark Knight back when Rises was about to go theaters. I bought The Dark Knight Trilogy pre-purchase and uvvu.com showed I got HD of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight when I redeemed my pre-purchase from Wal-mart.
