    Christmas gifting options?

This may have been addressed, but here goes: With Christmas coming up, it would be great to be able to ask for or give a vudu gift card or gift a particular movie, but still be able to give the person something to open. What options are out there for vudu gifts? Can you use a wal-mart gift card for vudu? Thanks in advance for the help.

This is a good question. I would like to know about this too.

This was asked a few months ago. Vudu does not accept any gift cards, not even WalMart's. You can use something like a Visa/AMEX gift card, but that's about it.

I've got to say that if this is true, then vudu is missing out on some serious cashflow this Christmas season. I don't think anybody wants to just give someone a visa card for Christmas...pretty lame and thoughtless in my opinion. A VUDU gift card or a specific movie would be great however.

That is very altruistic of you, putting aside your personal desires, and instead, showing concern for Vudu's bottom line.

Sarcasm aside, if I'm going to invest time and money building a movie collection through VUDU, I want to see that they are making to effort to make this a viable service. More conveniences=more customers, more money, more stability for the service and more movies for me. Is there such a think as selfish altruism?

Why not just make your request, and leave it at that? Let Vudu decide for themselves what will pay dividends. I've seen time and time again on this forum customers playing consultant for Vudu. I don't think any Vudu customers know enough about Vudu's inner workings to know how profitable an idea would be. Vudu is staffed to maximize their profitability. You won't get any bigger part of Vudu's ear by saying that your idea would make them money.

Your idea isn't a bad idea. Let it speak for itself. I can't believe that Vudu (or any company for that matter) will suddenly realize the profitability of an idea because the customer said it would be profitable.

Oh you mean like you could have just expressed that my idea was a good one and left it at that? Everyone has opinions man, I'm stating mine based on the simple fact that I would have spent money on a gift card...not on any inner workings. Relax, we're all in this together.

For the record, I would really love to see gift options to buy movies or gift cards. Better yet, if I could share my wishlist from VUDU, and then friends or family could buy movies from that wishlist, that would really be nice.
