Here, Fandango at Home customers may post information, questions, ideas, etc. on the subject of Fandango at Home and Fandango at Home -related issues (home theater, entertainment, etc).     Boot trouble

    when I plug it in all that happens is the left light turns yellow and occasionally flashes what happened?

    I'm assuming that you wait a few minutes. Do you see anything come up on he TV? Maybe it is a defective unit.

      I'm having the same problem. We've had the unit about 10 days. It was working fine last Sunday, but tonight when we tried to watch a movie (Friday night, of course!), it wouldn't turn on. We tried powering it up & down, and re-pairing the remote, but nothing works. When we power it up, the HDD makes a funny squeaking noise. I don't remember it doing that last week.

              Unfortunately, nobody has yet found a way to stop delivery services from occasionally drop-kicking an electronic device in transit to good customer.

                Customer Care promised to swap the box out for a new one. Here's their reply on 10/29 - "Sorry about the delay here. It appears that this is our first hardware failure in the field. I will follow up with you this afternoon with more details about what to do with the box. We will be advance shipping you a unit, but we're still working on ensuring that process goes smoothly."

                It's been 2 weeks, and I haven't been able to get any reply to repeated follow-up e-mails. I haven't received "advance shipping" on anything and have gotten no direction on what to do with the current black brick that is sitting in my living room. How long does it take to develop a process to ship a replacement box???

                I'm in the service industry and know poor customer care when I see it.

                $400 for a paper weight. I'm past getting annoyed. Maybe someone in this Forum knows someone at VUDU that can do something about this?

                    Ed's right. We'll make sure you get some help. In the meantime, you might want to try calling customer service as well. Sometimes for some reason, e-mails get lost in the ether...

                        Thanks everyone for the assistance in getting assistance. Kevin e-mailed me today and a new box is on it's way . I have a FedEx tracking number, so I'll be back on track to VUDU in a couple of days!

                        Unfortunately, for some of us, e-mail is the best option to contact customer care. Today, I had 7 hours of meetings at work, and 2 hours of meetings after work! No time to call - unfortunately. E-mail, however, can be sent 24 hours a day. I don't mind waiting a day or two for a response, but this was excessive. VUDU recognized this and has made right by themselves.

                        Thanks again! Now I know how I'll be spending part of my long turkey day weekend!

                          Well, we do have fairly long support hours as well... 9AM-7PM Pacific Mon-Fri, 11AM-7PM Pacific Sat/Sun. Hopefully some of that would fit in to your schedule...

                            Indeed. Most people seem to be football-watchers on Thanksgiving. My family has always been a bunch of movie watchers.
