I think VUDU still has the best interface over Amazon, Fandango Now or Movies Anywhere and they are my over all favorite BUT they need to stay on top of things and fix these issues.
Issues like this should be easy to fix... Compile a list of titles, call and/or eMail the studio, explain to them that they don't have the proper ratio and request a new encode?

Apparently it?s. It?s complex than that, or there?s a level of disinterest. What I find curious is how other providers DO get the correct masters (Almost everything is right on Amazon Video). I?m surprised that studios have multiple masters they send out; you?d think it?d be less effort to just have one.

I purchased BLUE VELVET today as part of a $4.99 sale and didn't realize the aspect ratio was wrong on Vudu. I have already submitted a support ticket asking for a refund and to have the title removed, but this is my favorite film of all time and it's completely unacceptable that a version of it available to purchase at retail is cropped.

Come to find out, Rent is also presented in the 1.78:1 aspect ratio on iTunes, Google Play, and Movies Anywhere itself. I haven't checked Amazon of Fandango Now yet.
Well, Microsoft Movies has joined with Movies Anywhere, and it turns out they have Rent framed in it?s proper 2.40:1 ratio.

Alamo 2004 in SD is all stretched. None of my other SD titles are this way.

                For quite some time.

Unfortunately, the OP hasn't been updated in awhile. There are a few movies on the list which have had their Aspect Ratio corrected. However, since the list is not updated/maintained, you wouldn't know unless you watched the movie. There is also a few movies that have the incorrect Aspect Ratio and are not included. By not updating the list, this can stop people from buying corrected movies.

They were documented in this thread. I posted a few movies that were corrected, they were just never updated on the OP. A couple of examples are Escape from L.A. and To Catch a Thief. There are others but those are off the top of my head.

You?d think with Batman Begins being available in 4K Ultra HD, Vudu would have received an encode with the correct Aspect Ratio.

                              Hail Jupiter!

I notice the other day that "The Hustler" was widescreen instead of the previous 4:3. It is still not 70mm, but better than it was.

Batman Begins is in the correct aspect ratio. I believe they fixed it back when they received the 4K version.
