I see that this thread has been dormant for a few days.

Any news from vudu on getting these titles corrected?

Nope, haven't gotten any news recently.

I just watched "The Sword In The Stone" and it is 1:75:1 so it appears that this has been corrected.

Finally I can remove something from this list!

Removed from Incorrect and added to Recently Corrected!

Any updates from Vudu on this? Seems like we haven't heard from them on this issue in quite some time.

Just added "A Star is Born" (1954 version) to my account, and it's 1.78:1 aspect ratio when it should be 2.55:1
                It looks horrible! Fix it!

I just added it to the list. Unfortunately I don't think the problem will be fixed any time soon, Vudu hasn't updated anyone on this issue, I think they have just stopped caring about it entirely. This thread is about 10 months old now and only three titles have been corrected.

Re: The "Incorrect Aspect Ratio" Thread

They probably have no control over it, they get the encode from the studio and that is probably the only one they are allowed to use. In a better world Vudu would just rip the Blu-ray and make their own encode, but this probably violates their contract or something, even though it is the exact same movie as the studio supplied version...

I don't think they care anymore either. Other sites don't have this problem so I will just use them.

I just received word from our content team that they are still working on the movies listed here. It seems that in some cases it's quite the process to update the aspect ratio. We're in the process of requesting new encodes for some films in the mean time.

Wow, that's great to hear Daniel, thanks! Where else can you buy something, and then have it fixed/improved months or years later at no additional cost?

Yeah, that doesn't explain two things. First, why not at least put a label on these titles in the meantime warning customers that the AR is incorrect? It's not like VUDU hasn't been made aware of it. And second, why is it so hard to get the correct AR? Most of the titles on this list are available through other providers like Flixster or Amazon Instant Video and are not cropped. If they were able to secure a correct transfer, why wasn't VUDU?

Why is Vudu ignoring this question?

Looked at the trailer of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and it appeared to be the correct Aspect Ratio. However, after purchasing it yesterday its is incorrect 1:85 i believe. I would like to have a refund of one dollar and have this removed from my library until its fixed. Thanks.
