Just added Cube to the list.

BTW, in 8 days this thread will be a year old. Barely any of the titles have been fixed.

To take that amount of time to correct issues with these movies is absolutely ridiculous.

I enjoy VUDU, but taking that long to correct something as important as aspect ratios of movies is very poor customer service.

Many of the titles that I have purchased on here I've started buying on blu-ray so I can properly enjoy them.

        Wizard of Oz Stretched

Should be 4x3, but HDX version is stretched to ws. This running on the PC, and also from a Samsung Blu-Ray player.

It's stretched on my computer. But it looks fine on my Roku 3 and PS3.

I'ma just hijack this for a second. I have no idea if "Chronicles Of Riddick: Dark Fury" is in the incorrect format, but my God was the quality TERRIBLE! Seeing that it is a cartoon and all, I am sure that it is FF (black bars on the left and right), that's understandable to me. But the quality.... uuggghhh

The Wizard of Oz original aspect ratio is actually 1.37:1 which is slightly wider than 4x3 (1.33:1).

Gone with the Wind and many other movies from that era are also 1:37:1 but I haven't checked to see if Vudu has them in the original aspect ratio.

I recently purchased the documentary 'American Scary', and it's wrong. I'm watching on my Ipad, and the image clearly needs to be wider. Everything is 'squashed' looking.

Just checked the Kevin Costner movie "Tin Cup" which is 2:40:1 OAR, but on VUDU is cropped at 1:78:1

For those that are interested, you can link your UV account to MGO and Flixster and I am finding that some of the movies that I've purchased on VUDU are in their proper aspect ratio.

                            So far I've checked

                            Blood Work
                            Conspiracy Theory
                            Driven
                            The Hard Way
                            Matchstick Men
                            Tin Cup
                            Unknown

I would like to know how other vendors are able to get these in the correct aspect ratio but vudu can't even fix.

Re: The "Incorrect Aspect Ratio" Thread

I just joined VuDu and was really disappointed to find that they have movies in their HDX quality that are not in the correct aspect ratio. The whole purpose of HD quality is to see the film as close to what was shown in the theater.

They should at the very least indicate that the film is "Pan and Scan" before you buy it. I just won't watch any film in that format and I certainly do not want to own it in that format.

Is there a way to get a refund? Or just delete the film from your library?

You can add "RENT" to the lisy of films with an incorrect aspect ratio.
