So it's been passed that day or so mark you offered and it's still cropping. Any updates? I paid a bit for yhis movie back on the 28th of June. It is now July 11th and I'm still having trouble watching it.

I was told we'd have a new encode to fix it Friday, but it's not ready yet. It's actually a workaround for a bug in the LG TV firmware, but we think we have a way to workaround it with a new encode. Sorry about the delay.

          Any update on the fix?
I am not going to purchase another UHD movie unless a fix is through. It is really annoying

          Thanks

Just got the new encode. It should be live by tomorrow afternoon. As far as we know this was the only title with the issue.

No update received yet. Starting to lose hope here.

One I noticed recently that doesn't seem to be on the list. I think it used to be SD only.

                    Cahill: United States Marshall (HDX)
                    Original Aspect Ratio: 2.35 : 1
                    Vudu Aspect Ratio: 1.78 : 1

Ironically, it has a DD+ soundtrack, but the aspect ratio is wrong. That makes it unwatchable to me.

Did everyone get the email about upgrading all HD copies to HDX? This is troublesome. Some of The universal monster films (Frankenstein, Mummy, Invisible Man) are in the incorrect "stretched" aspect ratio in HDX only. On those films, the HD version is the only version that you can watch (and the SD version). The HDX versions are just awful

I'm afraid they're going to take away the HD versions, and those films will only be able to be viewed in standard DEF because those HDXs are stretched so badly

I got it but it makes no difference to me as I no longer have any "HD" titles in my collection and haven't for quite a while.

                          10 UHD
                          752 HDX

This list is becoming quite ridiculous... and should be top priority for Vudu to fix, surely... as well as sync issues and subtitle issues that are being left for years unsolved needing someone to bump them in the forum every other year. I mean this is a movie and tv show service after all. I would rather the Vudu team put all their time and energy into fixing the current titles that people buy (pay vudu money for) which are essentially broken but can't get a working replacement for years, if ever (which would be unacceptable in virtually every other business) than giving us new fancy features etc.

I may be wrong (and hope I am), but it doesn't seem like threads like these are very high in the priority list.

This is really a shame because Vudu is by far the best service that there is at the moment... but they don't really act like it.

We love you Vudu... please love us back.

I agree 100% still waiting on several to get fixed and I had more to add to list, but I finally just gave up hope that anything will get fixed! Lol

Re: The "Incorrect Aspect Ratio" Thread

I have bought over 150 titles on vudu and never had a problem until this week. I purchased 3 films, Ben Hur, Escape from LA and used an ultraviolet ticket for Christine. All three aspect ratios were wrong. Ben hur became 4x3 after the overture ran out. This is unacceptable. Escape from LA was cropped with the sides blacked out. John Carpenter would have a heart attack. Christine went from Panavision letterboxed to 4x3!!. They must have poor programmers or are getting bad prints from the studio or it is a software issue with them upgrading to HDX-a major mistake with some of the older films.
They are getting bad with their product. I spoke to an operator and she said she would look into it. From now on I am only renting some of these duds and looking up the correct widescreen on the IMDB before going near this streaming carrier again. Very disappointed with VUDU. My dad always said"When you get too big it gets sloppy" Go with the blurays instead. You are in control and told what widescreen it is. Now I know why Mr. Spielberg did not want his films coming out 4x3 cropped. Half the picture is missing.
