    Buying titles in VUDU

Since I started watching movies on VUDU when UltraViolet started, I noticed that a lot of TV titles are very expensive compared their Blu-ray counterparts.

As a way of example, I have all seasons of Big Bang Theory. I happened to buy seasons 1, 2 & 5 at the same time and they had UV in them (hooray!). Being the fan I am....I wanted to purchase season 3 & 4, but ran into a price snafu. My Blu-rays cost me $27 average for each season. I then went to VUDU and as of this posting, it is $39.99 HDX (even with 42% off). Am I missing something? Why is the prices higher than a physical disc that is superior in every way?

This is not knocking the VUDU service. It works great and is very close to Blu-ray quality and sound when it is formatted the right way, but why are these titles (that we are willing to pay to digitize, not through the D2D service) more expensive? If anyone has a good indication (meaning a moderator that has access to these answers) of why, I would seriously like to know.

I say this because, if VUDU lowered their pricing, then they would really dominate the movie and TV scene. Believe me, people would jump at the chance to own a full digitized season, but not at the current prices and certainly not if they are paying more than what you would pay at Best Buy or Amazon for the physical ones.
