Vudu is for sale at Amazon.com

    Hey all,

I've just been given the green light to post this to y'all.

Vudu is now available on Amazon.com. Not searchable yet but will be shortly. Here is the URL:

    http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000VEMJFY

We told you things would pick up in the sales and marketing department...

Re: Vudu is for sale at Amazon.com

The two user comments are so sugary-sweet they might as well have come from Vudu employees ... hehe they all end with exclamation points !!!

I like Vudu, but what irritates me the most about Vudu are the disingenuous claims about content.

I just saw this text in one of their FAQs to the question about when movies will be available:

Generally, we get movies at the same time that their DVDs are released; however, this is determined by the studios on a title-by-title basis. Sometimes, there might be a short gap (1 to 5 days) between the DVD release and the film appearing on your VUDU box, depending on the VUDU box update schedule. At the DVD release, you may purchase the movie on VUDU.

This is just not "Generally" true. Every Tuesday rolls around and there are no updates to content to reflect that Tuesday's new releases. They don't mention that rentals usually take 2-3 weeks to become available ... If Vudu were more upfront about the issues and more communicative with their customers regarding plans and updates -- they would deserve more slack ....

Some DVDs released yesterday: Chuck & Larry, Ratatouille, Sicko. On Vudu : none ...

I'm not posting anything negative on Amazon since I want it to succeed ...

        <biting tongue>

I'm not posting anything on amazon's site yet. I'll try to be a bit more patient for HD movies.

yeah.. The first 2 reviews sounded like a paid advertisement. The last thing peple want te read is somone who sounds like they have stock in Vudu. The second statement about "...and many movies come in Dolby Digital surround sound with more being added all the time" is very misleading from the movies I have rented thus far.

No it's not. I even admit my review sounded like an ad. But there are many movies available in DD5.1. Just because you haven't rented one yet doesn't change that fact. You could chastise me if I had said "EVERY" movie but I did not.

As for my review, it's really how I feel about the box and its potential. I didn't script anything but wrote that off the top of my head...

Who'd want to watch "Sicko" anyhow as it's full of lies.

As for Ratatouille - don't count on any Pixar movies being available any time soon. Pixar is Steve Job's baby and since he has a huge stake in Disney, I think the only online place we'll see Pixar for some time is iTunes...Sorry..

Actually, it is a little misleading.

Please explain how it is misleading. You don't have any right to discuss how much content has DD5.1 audio because from what I understand, you don't have a box. So how do you know how much 5.1 content there really is? If I say many titles exist in 5.1, that is true 100%. I did not say every new release is in 5.1. I did not say every new movie is in 5.1. I said there are many movies in 5.1 and more are being added all the time. There is absolutely zero misleading or dishonest about that statement.

All you know is what you read in blogs and on the forums here.
