    Authorized device restrictions.

now that the vudu app is up and running for android phones, is there any chance of raising the amount of authorized vudu devices. it's pretty easy in a big family to use up five devices. we have three roku boxes, an authorized Blu Ray player and a ps3 in the family room. it's a shame my wife and I can't authorize our android phones as well because we have used our limit of devices.

I feel that this functionality was implemented incorrectly in Vudu's system. Netflix allows multiple devices, but you cannot stream more than your maximum number of devices simultaneously. This is how Vudu's system should work. If they want a limitation of 5 devices then they should not allow more than 5 devices to be in use at the same time. But we should be allowed to have as many devices as we want.

        Re: Authorized device restrictions.

My wife has two mobile devices, and I have three, plus we have a Smart TV, Blu-ray, and Roku box.

I can't imagine how many devices a family with three teenage kids would have, but I'd guess quite a few more than us. It does seem to be a ridiculous limit.

It's understandable the studios can't support unlimited devices, and it's very difficult to set a number that everyone will support. Hopefully there are lots of smart people working this out.

          Re: Authorized device restrictions.

I guess we could always create a second account and link it to the primary account. That would double the number of devices. I think this is how most people are getting around this limitation.

Awesome. 10 would've been a nice round number, but 8 is more than sufficient for the time being. This has been a good day for streaming video with the Nook Video app(which is UV-compatible) also being released.

This is great considering smartphones and tablets don't count against the limit.

You sure about that? Both my LG Optimus G Pro and Kindle Fire HD 8.9" count towards my limit.

My iPad using the Vudu application didn't count towards the limit.

I think iPads may be exempt. I've had VUDU reps tell me that before. But Android devices aren't so lucky.

That's messed up if iPads are exempt. My Nexus 10 definitely counts toward my limit.
