    Network down?

Got a red light on my Vudu. When checking it says Network Down. Is the network down? Everything else in my house connected to the internet is working fine. Been down for quite sometime.

    Thanks.

My Vudu is showing green. I'd suggest you start with a cold boot. Then give it about 5-10 minutes after the boot sequence and see if it's back online.

At that point (even if it is working), go to support.vudu.com/contact.php and file a report on the situation and include your system ID so the engineers can figure out what was happening.

This happened with one of my boxes. Go to Info and Settings and choose the menu that allows you to select the delivery speed (the name escapes me a the moment). In there, you will have the opportunity to do a network test. Run that test. It should detect connection to the Vudu network and then allow it to come back up on your box. This worked for me.

There have been times when I've had to reboot either my switch, or in the stubborn cases, my modem, router, and switch. This has usually been during lightening storm brown-outs.

There have been a few reports of boxes not re-connecting to the VUDU network after misc network issues -fix pending ASAP, but if you do see this issue, re-running network test, unplugging/replugging the Ethernet cable, or rebooting all fix it.

Oh great, last night I just yelled at my wife and kids for playing around with the network cables because when I came home from work yesterday there was a Red network on one of my VUDU's. All I did was unplug the cable and plug it back in. Now I am going to have to apologize.

I never thought about unplugging Ethernet cable, but re-running network test or rebooting would always solve my problems.
