    Hulk in HDX

Directv now has a trailer available of the HULK in their new HD1080p format (which I presume competes with HDX in quality).

The movie will be available for rent the same day as VUDU (11/19).

What they haven't announced yet is what price they will be charging.

It will be fun and interesting to rent from both to watch and compare.

Since Directv VOD is sent via the internet, it comes rain, snow, or shine.

Maybe DTV (or Dave to his friends) will match DISH and charge $6.99 for their new 1080p VOD rentals (that would be worth double the cheese!).

      Re: Hulk in HDX

I finally completely cancelled my DirecTV account. I had accepted their offer for a free upgrade of my equipment. I still feel it was a big mistake for them to obsolete the old equipment. I should have been able to keep it and at least have it work as well as it did, even if it didn't pick up any new HD channels or services.

When they got out to my house though, they told me they would need to move my dish to a place that would have looked horrible and they would need to replace my multiswitch which is in a location that is difficult to access. Also, they didn't bring the necessary equipment to do either of those things and I would need to schedule another appointment. In the words of a famous American, I said "Thanks, but no thanks!". I did lose my NFL Sunday Ticket, which really does stink but I'm very happy with my cable and Vudu for all the rest.

They keep mentioning offering Pro Sports in the Vudu customer opinion surveys, so I'm holding on to hope that I'll be able to get NFL games (overnight conversion to HD would be something I'd happily wait for).

They probably won't have NFL games, at least not live, which is all I would care about. DirecTV has an exclusive agreement with the NFL for their Sunday Ticket stuff which would seem to eliminate anyone else from being able to offer out of market games.

I'm always confused by the poll when it comes to mentioning pro sports. The question, as asked, is difficult to answer.

Pro sports are only meaningful to me if I can see them live. If Vudu could do that I'd seriously consider canceling my cable subscription.

I have no idea if Vudu could manage to stream "live" events. Maybe they could do it with a few minutes lag time - I don't know what it would take. In my case, I'm already waiting for friends to send me games for my favorite team that I watch the next day and I'd much rather watch them in HD on my Vudu vs. SD on my Replays.

That would be the San Diego Chargers, right??

HDNET often replays sports events, like NHL hockey and NASCAR races, that I watch a few days after the event. They are usually games that are blacked out or out of market so there is really no way to watch them live sometimes. Since I'm not a really big fan of either I'm ok watching them a few days later.

Also the NFL channel has game replays all week long. I'll sometimes watch some of them for the same reason, they were either blacked out or out of market games for my area.

But I would not watch any of these events more than a few days out from the original day of the event. They would be too stale to watch after that.

From someone whos seen it, I dont think youll notice much of a diff between the D* 1080p and HDX. I am starting to feel HDX may look a little better.
