This is my understanding as well.

I'm curious as to what happens to all the proprietary formats the streaming providers are using once the CFF rolls out. I would assume they would all start using the CFF encoded files, unless the CFF spec applies exclusively to downloads.

Once Upon a Time in America also does not show up on Roku 2.

These films are still not showing up for me on Roku 2, most if not all are Warner Bros. movies:

The Treasure on the Sierra Madre
      Mars Attacks
      Dial M for Murder
      A Streetcar Named Desire
      Singin in the Rain
Once Upon a Time in America

Re: Movies still missing on Roku

I figured out why movies "disappear" from the Roku, at least in my case. I use a Roku 3. When I switch the Roku's audio setting from surround to stereo, I have several movies disappear. When I switch back to surround, they all come back.

I don't know why this happens, but that's what happens in my case.

You are correct. When I changed my setting to surround all my movies show up. Of course I currently cannot use that setting because I get no sound. But I assume that if I had surround sound that these movies would have sound.

Switching to Surround Sound on my Roku 2 also worked for me, though I don't have surround sound. Sound still came from TV, though I don't know if there's any problems with the setting switched to surround sound even if I don't have surround sound.

That did the trick. I didn't even realize that the surround sound wasn't switch on on the Roku. Thanks for figuring out that little mystery. Now, do you have any ideas on how to get D2D to recognize all the discs that won't work?

Re: Movies still missing on Roku

I only have 3 movies (so far) that are affected with the surround sound/stereo switch. They are:

                Mars Attacks
                Falling Down
Arthur (the original movie, not the remake)

Also, any movies that are Dolby Digital Plus do not play sound in surround mode, at least not on the tv I used, which is why I have to put it in stereo mode and thus lose the 3 movies. I use a Roku 3 with an HDMI cable.

I have no idea why any of this happens and what makes those 3 movies any different than the other 350 movies I have.

The CFF applies exclusively to downloads. However there is a Common Streaming Format that is planned as well, but that will come later. If it's taken this long for the download format, who knows how long it will be till the common streaming format is deployed.

                            Twilight Zone the movie
                            Where Eagles Dare

I recently got bit by a couple of these films. Called vudu support and they acted like this was a new issue. Did a google search and it led me here. To find this has been a known issue for over a year? Any updates on when it might be fixed?

I know there are a couple of temporary workarounds (use the MGO roku app or flixster app) or adjust the surround sound setting on your roku (if you can).
