Re: New feature request / Wishlist

I keep running into the storage cap, though. If it's because of those movies, that's not great (and it could be, since the only ones I've seen unavailable for the discount are HDX new releases).

Agreed. I'm not sure how they allocate storage. If you've already watched a rented movie, it should not keep you from renting or purchasing anything else. Were you ever kept from renting a movie due to space being taken up by other rentals that were watched and past the 24 hour mark?

Yes, though I didn't pay attention to how that tracked with those not in extended rental. Just a few days ago, I wound up on the 99 for .99 list, because I couldn't get anything in HDX, due to space (most of which was from stuff I'd watched recently, but was still sitting in my rentals).

I see, especially with the 50/month you watch. I guess they just didn't anticipate quite that load and didn't implement the best algorithm to handle it. I think that you should at least be given the opportunity to have it remove watched rentals from the HD, even if you still have time left on the clock. The box should remember how much time you have and let you download it again if necessary. Like I said, they probably just didn't put much thought into that case.

I just thought of one reason they might want to keep it in the "My Rentals" list, even after the extended rental period. You are probably more likely to purchase something you recently rented and if they keep it visible to you, you might end up doing that where maybe you wouldn't if it was removed. Just a thought.

[it's only about 25 of movies & I keep the TV episodes archived]

It's mainly just HDX that causes it. I have 2 purchased, 2 HD ones purchased, & 3 SD ones purchased. After that, though, by the time I get to queuing 5 or so HDX ones, I start to run into problems. I like to have a bunch of options readily available (I probably have movies sitting in my queue for about 2 weeks, on average, before I get to watching them--some more, some less) instead of planning out something specific.

It may be. I'd rather see that in a separate [discounted] section that didn't use storage space.

Well whether or not it's stored on the HD or not should be independent of what list it's in.

                    true.

Of course, this would all be easier if you could just see how much space you had available at any given time.

I just saw your other post on how you bought a bunch of TV shows. TV shows are all 100% archivable to the "cloud." You can archive them and they stay in your catalog but get removed from your box freeing up space. You may want to try that. You can then download the show again at any time.

Fast Rewind and Fast Forward for Youtube content. I can understand not having FF/FR when the video is initially played, but, at least, subsequent plays of the same video should provide these options.

Yes, and Tivo does provide that. You can FF or RW through whatever they have in the buffer. Seems reasonable for Vudu to do the same.

I thought 2.1.2 added some additional controls to You Tube or am I mixed up on my devices??
