The only thing I don't understand about the travel kit is the extra antenna. It's actually easier to leave the antenna on the unit than taking it off everytime you take it somewhere. The biggest PITA for me is the power supply. Now I'll be able to move the power supply in a permanent loaction since I'll be able to use the one in the travel kit when I take it to my girlfriends house.

Edit: Although I just realized I probably could have just purchased an extra power adapter and just carried the VUDU box in a bag. Too late now though. At least with the Travel kit I will know where the box is since it will be marked with VUDU on it.

Yes AT&T DSL is testing some type of metered usage but AT&T does let folks know about contact changes unlike Comcast that had the "hidden" cap for about 4 years before they went public after all the complaints.

AT&T does a good job of allowing folks to cancel without penalty when the contract terms change after sign-up just like they do with cell phones. I was able to cancel my wife's 2 year plan when they changed the rates for text messaging.

It may seem mafia like but I think most folks don't read email's or bill inserts when new terms or service are sent out and then they complain.

Because VUDU prices HDX movies the same as HD ones, they DO pass their savings onto us. There's a good reason iTunes/XLM/PSN don't offers HDX-quality video and it's bandwidth costs.

                    (No ethernet connection now).
So I plan on taking my box with me when I go on vacation. I understand that I don't need an internet connection to watch what I already have on the box. I pretty much use the box only for rentals. So, let's say I want to take advantage of an extended rental (past 24 hours), I would need a net connection to process that though right? I know I'll have net access at the house, but perhaps not ethernet in the room where I'll setup the VUDU. I guess I could move it temporarily as needed though. Thanks.

Yes, I think so. If there's going to be a financial transaction involved, I believe you will need a connection.

You will need a network connection to extend the rental since the VUDU box needs to "call home" and process the financial transaction.
