    Attention New Users: First Post

To all you new users out there who would like to post but haven't had any luck:

The very first post a new user on the forums makes needs to be approved by the Vudu staff. This is to help eliminate and curtail spammers on the site. It's been pretty effective. Once your post is approved, then you will be able to make subsequent posts without any issues. Until that point the first post is approved, all subsequent posts will also be held in the moderation queue.

The Vudu staff is taking some well deserved Holiday time right now and so their response time may not be as quick as is usually the case. So please don't think that we don't want your posts or that your post has been rejected.

Hopefully, someone will pop in this weekend and approve posts and anyone who is new will get full privileges to the forums.

Correction, it's not just the first post, it is all posts and replies until the account is approved by the moderator(s) not to hold for moderation.

So if you make 5 posts before your account is unlocked none of the 5 will show until your account moderation queue is lifted. These posts will appear at the date/time you made them so if a week or more goes by before this is done (as happened to me personally) then there could be several other posts made after them just FYI.

There is another thread with suggestions on how this might be fixed so VUDU customers do not have this moderation requirement.

Must you be contentious about EVERYTHING? Sheesh.

I put in a simple explanation and now you come in here acting like flame bait on this matter.

Please, let's leave this subject alone. You might not like it but this is the way it is.

Again: You would not let me into your home without getting to know me first. So am I to assume you think me a criminal or someone who wants to do harm to you? Do you lock the doors to your car? Why? You are assuming that everyone around you will steal your car if you don't.

But no, you have to be contentious about it and start up the topic again in another thread.

Sheesh, was providing a simple correction. What is your malfunction anyway?

The thread title is wrong, the information you provided was incorrect. Just fix the incorrect information and stop being so sensitive already.

I'm sorry for not being "specific" enough for you. Most people make one post and then it gets fixed shortly thereafter.

Silly, it wasn't for me. I was trying to be helpful to other new users like your friend who may not realize that it was all posts, not just one.

Anyway, good point about VUDU listening. I saw firsthand that VUDU listens to some of what's posted here. Example, when they came out with the rating feature on the website only at first I made a post suggesting it would be cool if they made that available in the Vudu player.

And they did. So very much appreciate the fact that they are not only listening but taking action.

Thanks for the help to both of you.

And yes, VUDU does try to listen!

I probably shouldn't chime in but saying your first post is blocked until a moderator approves it pretty much implicitely covers the 2nd through however many until the first one is moderated. The alternative would be that the first post is held up but you are assumed to be ok on your 2nd post even though the first one wasn't approved. That just makes no sense and should be discarded as even a remote possibility.
