Watching first movie in HD and the audio is out of synch

Anyone ever see this? I am watching Flawless streaming in HD, but I'm also downloading Spy Game in HDX.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I am using the coax audio digital cable into a different receiver that decodes 5.1. I can't imagine this is a problem downstream.

I have only used HDMI and never had any synchronization issues. Others, however have had an occasional issue. I'll let them chime in with what they know.

      Hey Jokey,

Does the audio seem to be "ahead" or "behind" the video? Does this happen with all movies, or just that one title? It would also help to know exactly how you have your audio and video connected, and what they are actually connected to. Last, but not least, also post your system ID with this information so the Vudu engineers can pull up your logs.

I've seen an issue with HDMI audio being out of sync recently on all content. Volker (Vudu's HDMI expert) and I have been discussing this offline. There's an amount of audio delay built into the Vudu and it looks like the optimal value has changed recently. I expect this to get fixed soon enough.

Re: Watching first movie in HD and the audio is out of synch

I didn't see any audio sync problems on the four HDX titles I watched on Sunday and Monday.
And I'm running my VUDU box into an ALgolith Flea, then to a DVDO EDGE, then to a Denon 3808 receiver, then to the TV. All connections HDMI.

Could the audio problems be title specific? I know my boxes won't download an HDX title while watching an HDX title. But the OP stated that his box was downloading an HDX title while watching an HD title. I Haven't watched any HD titles in while so I don't know how the download procedures are with those and HDX titles.

I've seen the problem on both HD and SD and HDX content. So I'm not sure if we are simply getting into an area where there is a difference between people's equipment or not. Regardless, the OP should have an audio delay adjustment in his receiver (my Denon has this) and should be able to tweak this if it seems consistent between movies.

I've always used around an 80ms delay on my receivers from all my devices.

I will try to use an audio delay, the problem is if the delay is not constant between format/title. If that is the case, then the problem is going to be more serious. I'll let you know.

I think it will be consistent, but we need feedback from users on this.
