Have to give my Credit card info?

Re: Have to give my Credit card info?

It could be that the credit is applied once the box is activated - I don't know. I'd wait and see and if it doesn't get fixed then, contact support.

Look, regardless of the credits, you need to spend the $20 to set up an account. Heck, when I set up my iPass toll collection some 10 years ago for toll roads here in Chicago, I had to set up a $40 deposit. Now, Gov. Rod and his corrupt cronies get another $40 from me whenever my account drops below $10. But, it's a lot better than stopping at toll boths!

The biggest thing people are going to wonder about is when credits are used - Credits are depleted FIRST. So if you have $200 in credits and then add another $20 - that $20 balance is going to be sitting there until you use up the $200. Yes, Vudu gets that money in advance but that's a lot lower cost than having to run credit card transactions ever time you rented a 99 cent movie.

But using a cedit card is much easier, even when puchasing points for the 360.
I believe they ask for a CC when you signup for the Live service, at least they did me, so they could charge me again when my 1 year was up.

Although it has been many years since I first signed up for a Live membership, and they could of changed things.

You can also buy the Live service with cash and just enter the code. Xbox live is setup so a person doesn't have to use a credit card. Points and Live membership can be purchased in a store and then you just enter the appropriate info into your 360.
The advantage for me with this is those cards go on sale periodically. So I buy up a bunch of cards when they are on sale so i only spend $12 to $16 for each 1600 points and only spend $35 to $40 for each year of online service. Going straight through MS you pay the retail price of $20 for 1600 points and $50 for each year of online service.

I know for a fact that the $50 movie credit (or any other box deal credit such as the $200 BB promo) does not show up on your account until you activate the box. You are going to be fine.

Didn't mean to stir anything up guys. In fact I am scanning adult titles right now to see what we are going to watch tonight.

This little box is pretty cool. Very easy to use and fast. Love the little remote too.

Now to go play with the Picasa stuff. Ya Baby!

I just activated my box today, anyone know how long it takes for the $50 promo credit to apply? I have been lurking around for a while now but could not find any answers. Thanks
