    Do UV rights expire?

I have noticed that I am losing access to a lot of my titles on Flixster, Target Ticket, CinemaNow and M-Go. After a lot of analysis, most of these titles were converted on Vudu using D2D back in June 2013. So I called Vudu and they said that there may be a licensing issue with the UV rights? Does this make sense? I am not able to see these on the UV site either.

No particular movie. I have over 700 movies that are not showing up in UV or the various retailers that were converted on Vudu back in June 2013. All the missing ones were from that timeframe or older. So I called Vudu and they thought that UV might have a licensing issue that needed renewing.

        Re: Do UV rights expire?

To the best of my knowledge UV rights do not expire, there have been a handful that were withdrawn from UV, the titles that were Marvel titles were restored due to a massive "uprising" (chuckle), the others were some Kumar titles (if I remember correctly).

Presently I have over 1600 titles in VUDU, the better part of them are D2D conversions (over 70%, loose estimate), either VUDU2Go or Wally World conversions, some Flixster & CinemaNow conversions (I have been doing this from the inception of D2D). None, I repeat, none, have ever expired or vanished from my VUDU library to date. From what I can gather, none have vanished from my UV owned titles either, since they are for the most part also showing up in Flixster.

Now as for the other providers, some do not show up, they lack the licensing rights I would suspect. Some also do not show up since it appears that the provider is unable to handle the size of the library.

As for UVVU, well that ceased to work for me ages ago in locating my titles, they are still beta and not really representing the full scope of titles owned, but they are there, in a kind of mysterious way (LOL).

This weekend I D2D'd 14 more titles, all are showing up in VUDU, some are showing up in Flixster, all are showing up in CinemaNow, and as for Target Ticket, well they have their limits and are currently down for maintenance. Regarding Target Ticket I think that they have a cut off number of 1,000 titles, and then the rest of the library is missing (this is just a guess since they do a fairly poor job of representing all titles owned). MGo is the same way, they get just so far and "that's all folks" no more titles load.

For my money, VUDU is the only streaming service that delivers, delivers consistently, and loads all of my owned content.

I would urge you to see if your UVVU library is linked properly to all of the streaming services, not trusting the UVVU library to represent all of your titles when you load the site is normal, but from my experience, they are there, just not visible due to the beta condition of the site. That many titles losing UV rights is just not feasible or for that matter believable, otherwise I think that I would see a boatload of titles exiting from my VUDU library stage left. This has NOT happened. My VUDU library is cross referenced with a personal data base, and thus far nothing has disappeared from my VUDU library to date.

Other possibilities that present are, do you share an account (either VUDU or UV), if so that has a whole 'nother set of implications. There maybe other reasons for your problem, and I am sure that others on this forum can share them, and the solutions, better than I can.

In answer your question to the best of my knowledge, outside of the few odd ball situations (Marvel & Kumar), UV titles do not expire or for that matter just disappear to the degree that you are reporting.
