Why no Vudu gift cards in Walmart stores?

I'd love to be able to pop in at one of the local Walmart stores and pick up a gift card that could be used for credit here at Vudu. I like doing that because it helps keep me on a budget if I see the credit there before buying anything. It also lets me budget things a bit and commit my money to Vudu in advance (before the spouse can potentially come up with something else that my money should go to hehehehehe)

Basically I'd like to be able to do what I can now on a competing vendor's system. Grab gift cards at point of sale in the retail stores, take home, type in code and then buy whatever I want from the offerings here.

Yeah, I know I can do pre-orders for selected titles by grabbing the point of sale cards off the racks for *specified titles*, but I'd like more generic cards that would work for any purchase and not just for specified titles. (I like that option too, but it doesn't work for all of my potential spending here)

Use a pre-paid credit card and control the loading that way. Use Pay-Pal and default it to existing pay-pal balance or bank card. Or like you said the games cards are $5 and give you $5. I actually use them like gift cards. You can always eGift yourself movies for purchases. I do that as well. Basically buy the game cards load up a Vudu account with whatever you want and then eGift from one account to another.

Vudu used to only work by pre-loading blocks of funds. People complained it wasn't just automatic like charge so they didn't have to pay in advance, or worry about things expiring. So Vudu changed it. Now some people wan't the old way back.

There are tons of different ways, even if not exactly what you want.

I'm sure Walmart would rather you use one of their prepaid cards (MoneyCard, Bluebird, etc.) than maintain a separate gift card system for Vudu -- or even enable Walmart GCs on Vudu.

I get a small (5%) discount on certain other online services by buying their GCs from a discounter competing with Walmart. (I won't explain further, but the 5% is a big hint.) However I'm sure that discounter won't be carrying Vudu GCs (even if they were to exist) as long as Vudu is owned by Walmart.

The simplest solution is for VUDU to start taking Walmart gift cards. Target Ticket now takes Target cards. This would be much easier for friends and family looking to buy me Christmas presents!

But then they would have to go in to a Wal-Mart. Heaven forbid.

          No offense Vudu.
