Buffering is making it impossible for us to watch our movies

The buffering is becoming ridiculous. I can't remember the last weekend that I was able to watch a movie without buffering and network errors. We can no longer watch anything on Vudu on a Friday or Saturday night. I am trying to watch a movie now and it's buffered three times so far. My daughter couldn't watch a television show earlier.

PLEASE have someone look into this. It used to work great, but it's been getting worse over the past 2 or 3 months.

This is why I am so looking forward to the CFF files. I'll just load up a bunch of movies on a USB terabyte drive, and play them through my roku.

Sounds like it may be more of an issue with your network than with Vudu.

I usually watch 4-5 movies a week, and I haven't had any buffering problems for months, probably longer.

        Hi Luz,

If you haven't done so already, could you send me a private message and include your account email address? I'd like to take a look at your streaming sessions.

I doubt that it's an issue with our network. Vudu used to work great, and all the other services that we use, until recently. We still have no issues with other services...only Vudu.

I will have to find out what the email address is from my husband. I am waiting for him to call me so I can ask him.

There was a couple days that it buffered non stop this last week. Couldn't watch Vudu at all. Stepped down to HD, then SD. Keep looking the same 30 sec of any movie.

Speed test was off the charts and perfect. I have 100/100 fiber line.

All my equipment is top of the line current products.

Netflix, Amazon, MGo, Target Ticket, etc all worked perfect on same box and all other boxes.

It's always Vudu and usually on Roku.

Even my Roku has an expensive high speed memory card in it.

There have been some issues reported with VUDU on Roku where streaming stops working - it's usually after the box has been running for a few weeks. Powercycling the Roku seems to resolve it.

I tried power cycling as well, several times, over several days.

Roku 3 doesn't have this problem. We have been using it for over a year with no issues until recently. And yes, we still tried to reboot the Roku 3 device to see if that would fix the problem. It did not.

In general I agree with you. I don't have buffering, especially re-buffering issues with other Roku apps (IE Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc).

However, that said the Roku is not the most well designed box. There are many compromises that were made to get it into the price point and profitability that they wanted. Most other mainstream hardware allows for more headroom for the apps than Roku does.

Needless to say since Roku isn't going to update their hardware for Vudu specifically then Vudu needs to update their app to work better within the limits of the Roku.

I can also say I don't really have these issue with Vudu on my non-Roku hardware.

I am also having this issue. Cannot watch anything. Rented a movie and it has buffered constantly to the point I cannot even watch the movie. Considering deleting my account with vudu. Not worth paying for a movie I can't watch...

Buffering seemed to be much better this past weekend, but we still had buffering and had to switch from HDX to SD to finish our show.

Please keep working on this Vudu.
