Walmart "DVD + Digital HD"...means what exactly?

Walmart online lists their SD DVDs as "DVD + Digital HD". Which to me implies that if I buy the DVD I'll also get a code for an HD copy (somewhere). In-store there is NO indication of this offer...in fact, the UVVU sticker on the box clearly says "Digital SD". And of course the employees are COMPLETELY clueless.

The best I can work out from all this, my being new to VUDU, is that the Walmart DVD comes with a digital HD code for VUDU, but only SD for UV? Can someone confirm?

    Merci,
    Kevlar

Could you give me a link to the movie you're looking at? I'll send it over to our marketing team to see if they can reach out for an answer.

I did a search on WalMart.com for "DVD + Digital HD" and this was the result: http://www.walmart.com/search/search...h_constraint=0

I am not sure if that search result link works, so here are the first few results:

      http://www.walmart.com/ip/37343380

      http://www.walmart.com/ip/The-Legend...creen/34478888

      http://www.walmart.com/ip/Hercules-2...creen/38234328

Unless DVD codes yield HD Digital Redemptions now, there are a ton of wrong titles. I can't look at all of them, but it appears Digital HD is being used on every title with a UV redemption, DVD or blu.

From experience, (and assistance) I know this one redeemed SD but states Digital HD: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Moms-Night...creen/38235600

Thanks for the reply...I'll go you one better. Below is the link, but yesterday I went ahead and ordered it online with delivery to store:

        - No additional information was included in the online receipt (so it is not a store vs. online issue).
        - The box contained only the UV redemption code and that successfully redeemed for SD version.
        - I sent a nice note to customer service indicating I was unhappy with the listing vs. actual...will inform you what the resolution is. I SUSPECT you may see the Digital HD removed from the online listings; with a mega company like WMT it may take some time and additional complaints to permeate...

        Thanks again,

Re: Walmart "DVD + Digital HD"...means what exactly?

My guess is the Walmart.com descriptions are incorrect. The pictures for The Rover & The Legend of Hercules each have the legend "DVD + DIGITAL" -- no "HD", thus implicitly SD. (However, I have seen a few packages marked "DVD + DIGITAL HD" in stores.) And I seriously doubt these titles redeem as HD at Vudu but SD at other UV retailers.

I got a response from CS today. They said take it back to store for refund (with the email)...I did, and it was returned with no problems. So "free" SD version...

WM REALLY needs to fix this; I'll bet there are TONS of customers out there that aren't savvy enough to know they didn't get a Digital HD = class action?

            Thanks for all your input...Kevlar
