    (not) Rented movie

Just now I was perusing My Vudu to see what was on my wish list. I happened to look in my rentals and there was "Dr.T and the women" and it had 27 days left. I asked my wife if she rented this to watch and she said no. Now the only others in the house are my dogs and cats and I don't think this is their cup of tea.

Has this happened to anyone else and if so what can I do?

    never seen that.

have you logged into your online VUDU account to see if it is listed under your rentals, and when it was rented?

(do you have a dog with access to the remote?)

I logged on to check and it was on my account as of 13 Jan @ 10:51 PM. I leave the remote on the coffee table so I don't think they would get it, plus having to double click to verify rental would seem to be a safegaurd against this sort of thing.

Are you sure you don't have a dog named Chico?

I guess Vudu should be endorsed by the AKC.

The transaction times on the website are GMT, so you should deduct 5-8 hours (your timezone may vary, some states not included) to determine when it really happened.

In the past, customer service has been understanding of first time "accidental" transactions and given refunds for the rental. You can ask them for relief at http://support.vudu.com/contact

On the other hand, if you find out it was the dog chewing on that tempty remote, keep track of his purchases and you may get to see his name up in lights like Chico last year!

The 2.99 isn't that big of a deal. I am more interested in how this could happen so as to prevent it from happening again. I didn't know if it was accidental on my end or an error on Vudu's. I was just shocked to see a movie in my rentals not knowing how the heck it got there.

Is there a possibility that you have a neighbor with a Vudu nearby? Dueling remotes could make this happen - and can be fixed by changing your remotes address and going through the "pairing" sequence. Out of the box, all Vudus will respond to any nearby remote until you go through the pairing process.
