You're right in where you posted, it should be here under General discussion and not under Disc to Digital, but everyone seems to post in that section out of habit.

Or every post could say "x title when UV :-), but not D2D :-(".
Got a little happy when I saw the header and made an incorrect assumption. Good sign for MGM I suppose though w/o D2D, it is irrelevant for most of us.

It absolutely sucks that MGM (and Disney) refuse to allow their titles do d2d. I refuse to buy these titles again just to have this feature. I already own these on Bluray and now MGM wants me to pay full retail to buy a movie I already own.

Though D2D is a separate issue, at present studios have to join UV before their titles can be offered via D2D (at any provider, not just Vudu). Now that a limited number of MGM titles are UV, perhaps they can become D2D-eligible shortly.

Disney will probably be a different issue altogether. Even if (as is rumored) Vudu joins DMA, there are other possibilities for enabling DMA upgrades to existing Disney movies. For example, the now-dead Disney Movies Online service (essentially a beta-test for DMA, and my first exposure to movies "in the cloud") allowed you to buy cheap licenses for *any* movie in their library -- even "vault" titles -- if you had previously registered your DVD or BD with Disney, including Disney Movie Rewards redemptions for non-Digital Copy titles. (DC titles redeemed from DMR into DMO automatically, just as they do now into DMA; I also understand DMO purchasers received DMA & iTunes licenses once DMA launched.) Perhaps Vudu might have something similar up its sleeve if & when it joins DMA...
