He said as a primary platform, he didn't say he would stop using it. I love Vudu, I still do all I can to support Vudu when it comes to my purchases. BUT, even with no TV support through MoviesAnywhere, competitors at least have more TV support through many more studios that Vudu does not have. There are so many shows I wish I could buy at Vudu, but they can't get Disney, etc.

1.eh for me the sales or weekly $10 tv seasons, $5 or less movies, holiday deals or in general the sales is better in vudu for me than apple.

      2. Apple u have to buy their Apple Tv to watch on the Big Screen or you cant use any other streaming device, roku, bulit in app from your tv to watch itunes on your new 55 inch sony 4k tv. You would have to turn on your pc or mac, connect the hdmi cable to the tv and turn on itunes to watch your itunes movies/tv shows on the bigscreen or on a 55 inch 4k tv. Vudu is pretty much on all platforms or samsung tv, roku, amazon, google, etc and u dont have to spend 180$ to watch, or buy a apple monitor to watch on the big screen.

      3. player menus seem to be more simplefied and simple to use on vudu if u ask me. Itunes try too hard to put extras, subtile, audio options, etc on the same far right side of the player and takes too much from the movie window and slows the playback a bit.

      4. digital collection is mostly UV or if u were a early digital collector when they started doing bluray+digital combo they were mostly uv. if u redeem with itunes u have to download and use itunes to watch. if vudu goes down my old UV collection is still watchable on movies anywhere or any UV player dont have to buy a iphone, ipad, or turn on my desktop computer.

If the movie companies offer the free 4k upgrade from hd to vudu the Money War for Digital movies wouldnt be a big difference.

I have both roku ultra, apple 4k tv, and pc/mac user but right now i still use vudu more cause most of my titles are still on vudu. The rare tv shows or disney gargoyles I still play that on apple since vudu doesnt offer alot of the old disney shows I use to watch. For people new to digital collection, apple lovers maybe stick with itunes, but for us uv fans or guys that started early vudu would be a better choice.

Another point is that VUDU is very platform neutral when it comes to casting to a display device. I have found casting VUDU to a smart TV to be easy. I have had problems in the past getting my iPhone to mirror with non Apple devices.

For Movies Anywhere I?ve found the audio is often stereo not multi channel. At least iTUNES is multi-channel. I bet Apple TV will do the Atmos buried in the Dolby audio. VUDU needs to get with it though for things like 4K on the Apple.

You must have a TV that supports screen mirroring or casting. My Sony Android TV supports casting. So when I use a device that supports it within range of my TV the casting icon is active. I have noticed that my laptop, iPhone, and iPad can cast from the Chrome web browser, You Tube, VUDU, and Netflix to my TV. There may be other Apps that can cast but those are the main Apps I use.

my tv is compatible or at least I think it is - I have a samsung js8500....................I'm using an iphone 6s - I can cast other apps - Youtube app, etc....... but Vudu has no cast option... maybe my phone is just incompatible with that feature? .... but I've checked my Ipad air 2 and I don't see any cast option for that either........ unless your using a google chromecast?

A lot of the Sony Android TVs essentially have a built in Chromecast. This is what is activated via the Vudu iOS app.

ahh I see....... I have the Roku Ultra so I dont need a chormecast.... but the ability to scroll through my phone or ipad and cast it to the tv would be nice....... still doesn't make sense why they would let me cast the youtube app but not the Vudu app... oh well.. I guess I can always get the 4k apple TV if I really have to have the ability to mirror.
