No, it was spotted in store on the DVD versions. Probably not going to be Walmart specific if this leaked announcement is accurate and it's only for the launch of DMA on Android.

Well....it's good news for Google Play users and I applaud them for branching out. That said, Vudu is the reveal I'm interested in.

I would like to claim the free Wreck it Ralph, however. Do I need an android to link that? I have an Iphone.

If it's required, you could probably just use BlueStacks to run Android as a desktop app.

Right from the DMA websites Terms of Use section.

            PARTICIPATING PROVIDERS

            (a) Connecting. Currently, Apple iTunes and Google Play are "Participating Providers" of the DMA Service. Additional Participating Providers may become available and Participating Provider may become unavailable at any time, with or without notice. The total number of Participating Providers may vary at any given time.

Re: Disney just announced linking with Google Play Account, Android App coming VERY s

Since the Wreck it Ralph banner says "connect a new digital movie account and get...", and didn't specify Google Play, I'm guessing they are announcing more than one new provider tomorrow. Hopefully this means Vudu will jump in tomorrow too. I'd even be happy with some other retailers getting announced too, if it means promoting digital adoption and (hopefully) more innovation as a whole.

Although, I could just be reading too much into it and "a new digital account" could refer to only GP or iTunes...

Re: Disney just announced linking with Google Play Account, Android App coming VERY s

I checked with my Disney Anywhere App and it lists connect with iTunes and Google Play to link my current collection. It was only when I linked Google Play that I did receive "Wreck it Ralph" free but not when I linked iTunes. So it does work.

It just went live at Disney Movies Anywhere - you can now link to Google Play in the settings, and free "Wreck it Ralph"
but.......what is up with Google and video quality? On my PC, Iron Man 3 at 360p max?!?!?!?!? Vudu linking couldn't come fast enough!

I don't have my IM3 on DisneyAnywhere but the ones that are on there show much higher resolution that 360p. They go all the way up to a stunning 480p!! The more services the better, especially as I don't use Apple products (though I generally don't use any Google products either) but 480p is kinda useless except for maybe a cell phone screen on the go.

Much more exciting than this will be if the Amazon & UV linkup rumor happens. That will really solidify UV and raise the boats for all the UV stores like Walmart/Vudu imo.

I can also confirm DMA/Google Play integration is live; you can link it from your browser (no need for Bluestacks though I already have it). The Android app wasn't live when I tried it previously; but that now depends on Google Play, not DMA.

I was hoping to see Vudu also; it still might happen today (remember Vudu runs on PT; it ain't midnight there yet). It will definitely happen no later than 12/9 per the GotG cover; probably no later than 11/18 when GotG hits digital.

I still need to see the Walmart stickers for Maleficent & Planes 2. Target's stickers (seen in a Blu-ray.com post) mention DMA, but not any specific service. For it to anticipate DMA/Vudu integration, the Walmart sticker must also mention Vudu and imply DMA redemption thru Vudu (like the GotG sticker).

Google play DMA app is now live too - this article explains what advantages it has over the Google Play Movies app:

By the way, I can confirm at least the Android app has HD quality, and plus it has Chromecast. I have not tried it, but will assume the cast is in HD as well.

Press was sent out only mentioning Google integration so I would assume Vudu effort is still underway and (if it will happen) it will happen at a later date.

Looks like this week is just GooglePlay and we are going to have to wait for GotG for Vudu to be added.
