yes and no if vudu lost digital rights to them they may have to pull them off there servers , but i'm not sure how that all works

Disney isn't going anywhere any time soon with pulling the plug with DMA so that is the last thing on my mind

but as long as Vudu is still selling Disney products then the movies will stay in vudu and the same for sales and staying in the accounts for google and itunes

If Disney now owns Star Wars and Indiana Jones, why isn't the iTunes-redeemed Indiana Jones DCs transferring to Vudu via DMA?

Paramount still has distribution rights for the existing movies. Disney just bought the right to produce and distribute future ones.

and they own episode's 1,2,3,5,6 after 2020 they technically never get the rights too episode 4 but i would guess there will be a profit sharing agreement or we will never get a complete box set again

Only releases from Disney, Pixar and Disney-Marvel movies right now, no Touchstone, Dreamworks etc.

If you want to know if a movie is eligible look to see if it is listed on the DMA website.

Re: Walmart's Vudu Joins Disney Movies Anywhere

I use iTunes Family Share for my family. We also use Vudu and have our own accounts linked through a shared UV library. On Vudu, the family members have acquired their own Disney titles, which are not part of the UV library, but now have been given DMA status.

                Here's the rub.

                Example:
                • Sister buys "Frozen" on Vudu. "Frozen" is now part of Sister's DMA account and can be viewed in Sister's iTunes account.
                • Brother buys "Captain America" on Vudu. "Captain America" is now part of Brother's DMA account and can be viewed in Brother's iTunes account.
                • Via iTunes Family Share, Sister can view Brother's "Captain America" in her iTunes account. Also, Brother can view Sister's "Frozen" in his iTunes account.
                • "Frozen", now in Brother's iTunes account, does NOT go in to Brother's DMA account and, thusly, NOT in to Brother's Vudu account.

In essence, much to my disappointment, the iTunes Family Share does not act like a UV-library.

Let me know if anyone has had any different experiences.

Yes I have experienced this also, I too was hoping for otherwise, but oh well.

But, I don't think you can solely blame this on iTunes. It may be a function of the way DMA works and to limit abuse. The problem with your scenario is that the shared iTunes movies are not actually "in" the other persons account, they are just viewable from the account.
Someone could just as easily blame Vudu for not sharing the Disney movies between shared accounts.

If iTunes sharing resulted in movies transferring to DMA, it would be a functional bypass on the 180 day waiting period on linking to a different account because there is no such limitation on iTunes family sharing.

I just saw the individual Indy titles at Walmart or Best Buy with Digital HD and Blu ray. I just bought the box set a month ago. The set does not, at the moment, have the codes.

So what do the "experts" think about our ability to D2D all our Marvel/Disney discs already owned?

When Disney had its old online movie service (Disney Movies Online) they had a program where for movies you had redeemed the DMR code you could pay (maybe about $5?) and get the online copy. (They shut that service down in 2012, refunded everyone's money and then when DMA started they gave everyone back the movies they had purchased for free.)

So one thought is that Disney's version of Disc2Digital may be DMR to digital.

This of course won't cover Touchstone and other movies without DMR codes, so for those there may still be hope for D2D.

Thanks for sharing! Glad to know that I'm not the only one.

Footnote: I had researched iTunes Family Share and they have the same 180-day restrictions on an individual leaving one family and joining another. This is from the iTunes Terms and Conditions:

"You can only belong to one Family at a time, and may join any Family no more than twice per year. You can change the store account you associate with a Family no more than once every 90 days. All Family members must use the same iTunes Store country or region."

How long does it take to sync new movies added to DMA? I added Guardians of the Galaxy tonight. It shows in my DMA, but not yet in Vudu. All the other movies in my DMA still show up.
