Re: Walmart's Vudu Joins Disney Movies Anywhere

Disney titles can not be seen through family share reason being is the movies would link to that account as well
because thats how dma was designed

    Here's the rub.

    Example:
    • Sister buys "Frozen" on Vudu. "Frozen" is now part of Sister's DMA account and can be viewed in Sister's iTunes account.
    • Brother buys "Captain America" on Vudu. "Captain America" is now part of Brother's DMA account and can be viewed in Brother's iTunes account.
    • Via iTunes Family Share, Sister can view Brother's "Captain America" in her iTunes account. Also, Brother can view Sister's "Frozen" in his iTunes account.
    • "Frozen", now in Brother's iTunes account, does NOT go in to Brother's DMA account and, thusly, NOT in to Brother's Vudu account.

In essence, much to my disappointment, the iTunes Family Share does not act like a UV-library.

Let me know if anyone has had any different experiences.

Update: Contacted VUDU and they informed me that they just became aware of the problem, it's a problem on Disneys end, and they are working on it. They told me to keep trying through out the day and if by 10pm it isn't fixed to call again and they would give a status update.

We're currently working with Disney to resolve the issue. We'll notify everyone when we have it fixed.

Update: Link issue should now be resolved. If you have any further trouble, please let us know.

I'm still hoping we get D2D or discounted purchase of old blu-ray titles that are pre-DMR even. Like Iron Man 1, the first 3 Pirates of the Caribbean movies, etc. Disney has a method for creating DMR codes but they want a purchase receipt. Sorry, I don't have blu-ray receipts from 2007-2008. Heck, I don't keep most of them for more than a month!

Re: Walmart's Vudu Joins Disney Movies Anywhere

When I linked our iTunes account to DMA it upgraded all of the eligible movies that were in standard definition to high definition. Most, if not all, were purchased on blu-ray which may have been the reason for this. That said, if the SD-->HD is an automatic feature of having DMA, does anyone know whether or not I would end up with a HD copy if I bought a SD copy of a DMA movie (on Vudu or an alternative DMA linked provider)?

Only disc-based (redeemed from codes on itunes) will be upgraded.

Like PFloyd, I'd like to know more about this?

I have access to quite a few receipts, including the titles you referred to.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. Iron Man 1 or 2 DVD/Blu are not DMR eligible titles so they won't be giving DMR points for those movies.

Even if they did give DMR points for some older movies it would be points only and not a DMA/digital copy. There is no upgrade path from DMR points to digital right now. If that happens then maybe you could pursue something with Disney.
If a code was missing from an eligible title there is a procedure to get your points.
                      http://www.disneymovierewards.go.com.../missing-codes

Enrollees who have purchased an eligible Blu-ray or DVD title without a Code inside the package, or who have lost the Code, should visit the "Missing Codes" page (not possible on mobile devices). Enter the title of the eligible Blu-ray or DVD and its purchase date where indicated then click ?Check Eligibility.? Follow the instructions on the ?Create Your Proof Of Purchase? section. Enrollee must have the original cash register receipt for the Blu-ray or DVD, imprinted with the store?s name and a date of purchase prior to the end of the Program Term. Points will be subject to verification and, if approved by the Sponsor in its sole discretion, will be credited to the Account within 2 to 3 weeks. This process must be completed by Enrollee by no later than the end of the Program Term.
