Hopefully that movie will eventually be available on Ultraviolet. Fandangonow has it as an Ultraviolet movie but VUDU only has it as Movies Anywhere right now

Talking about Only The Brave UHD I purchased it off of itunes and one day later Vudu makes it available in 4k but, I can't watch it in 4k on Vudu its only in HDX. This is a MA title why is the UHD version I paid for not unlocked on Vudu as well?

Unlink and relink Vudu from MA and it should update.

Many of the titles listed in this forum will be available soon.
We know getting 4K available on the same date as release for digital or disc is extremely important. Unfortunately, many times things can go wrong from the technology, process, quality control or studio approval, or other standpoints that delay release. Unfortunately, more than you'd expect, we have no control over those factors.

Thank you all, though, for staying with Vudu, on top of things, and sharing your frustrations. Your feedback is noticed and does help us keep us (and our partners) focused.

              Hi Jeffrey,

I've been a Vudu member since February of 2012 and I too have been disappointed in the slow progression of UHD available on Vudu. Since I joined in 2012 I have accumulated almost 900 digital copies. Below I've posted a list of UHD titles offered on Fandango NOW but not on Vudu. Fandango also has many of the same UHD titles Vudu offers too. Some of the older titles are favorites of mine. Sure would love to have them in UHD on Vudu. LIke "Braveheart, E.T., Apollo 13, Star Trek Into the Darkness, and Brandon Fraser's "Mummy" movies.

Also, when I own a UHD/ULTRAVIOLET title I purchased from Vudu, Fandango gives me access to the UHD copy on their service but Vudu doesn't when I purchase a UHD/ULTRAVIOLET title from Fandango. I get the "HDX" copy. The UHD copies I purchased from Fandango: Public Enemies, Split, Get Out, Flatliners and King Kong (Theatrical Version)

I've been thinking about purchasing "Apple TV" as I have read on this forum Apple gives "free" upgrades from HDX to UHD. I've always been a big supporter of Vudu's service and want to continue to do so.

              FANDANGO NOW UHD TITLES:

              The Martian
              Interstellar
              Braveheart
              E.T.
              X-Men Rogue Cut

I agree,i have been a vudu guy since the old regime before walmart took over but its getting hard to stay loyal when Vudu is taking forever to update our apps for the newer Sony TV's with Dolby Vision support....They are basically forcing us to jump ship towards apple.

Dv is broken on appletv 4k so most people force it to use hdr10 which is frankly not nearly as good as dv. They will fix it in a patch sometime in the future.

I've seen DV and HDR10. I purchased an LG TV last April of which I hated. Buggy audio that didn't work well with my expensive Yamaha receiver. Dolby Vision is awesome and until recently I wasn't impressed with HDR10. I returned my LG TV and purchased a Samsung. The MU series. I went online and searched out how to calibrate the TV. And during the search I read there are TV's out there that say they are HDR but don't have the capabilities of providing the wide gamut of colors and picture brightness that is required to get the full effects of HDR10. I have since calibrated my Samsung and the HDR10 is looking very close to Dolby Vision if not the same. One must stay away from using "PRESET" picture modes and actually calibrate the TV, such as "color space settings, gamma settings, and 2 point & 20 point white balance settings. Along with all the other "expert settings" in the TV such as backlighting, color, contrast, brightness, sharpness etc. Took me about 20 minutes to calibrate the TV for viewing HDR10 and wow what difference. The HDR effect mode must be used to get the full effect of HDR10. It takes a while to fully calibrate the TV for all viewing options such as Cable TV as opposed to streaming movies. The gamma setting must be set to "BT.1886" for viewing broadcast TV and a "Color Gamut of BT.2020 in the Color Space Custom settings". Don't be afraid to explore your TV. You can use the "reset picture" if you don't like what the picture looks like. Get online and search for those settings. They are out there. I'm a cable troubleshooter so my information is credible....

and to the post from "Vudu's Marketing dept" of which I directed my previous post above toward and received no response, it would be advantageous to step up your UHD titles to the caliber of other providers. Apple TV is on my horizon me thinks.

Interesting. I have absolutely no audio problems with my LG / Yamaha setup. But then again, I never use the LG as a audio source.....

Dolby Vision is absolutely fantastic. So glad I went that direction with my gear. Never had picture quality this good in my living room.

Unfortunately, timing is dependent on Sony, not Vudu.

But aren't most new releases upconverts too? I don't think we've had so many actual 4K masters used for 4K release. Many upconverts look great, some better than actual 4K masters, so I"m all for it.
