    Vudu's New "Look"

First off, thanks to Vudu for finally updating the ancient User Interface, it was long overdue. The new version is faster, cleaner, and the search function is somewhat improved. With that said, there are numerous features that have been lost in the shuffle that I and others hope will be put back in place:
    • UV/MA eligibility is not visible upon hover like it was before, there is room for this in the title icon and it needs to be restored - FIXED! YAY! Go Vudu!
    • Recent additions sort has been removed from Movies. - FIXED (kinda)
    • "Collections" has been removed or severely reduced (I see "Horror" and "Kids Zone" Storefronts, but not the rest) I regularly used the "Independent Cinema" collection, and now this and many others have been omitted
    • Individual TV episodes no longer display UV status. Please restore.
    • Audio Information for TV shows is missing, can this be restored?
Hopefully this new code is more conducive to adding features that your customers have been requesting for nearly a decade:
    • A User Folder similar to the Watchlist for "View Later" or "Saved Movies" where titles can be added and/or arranged for later browsing and viewing. Most other services provide this
    • Ability to search for titles that are owned, but no longer offered for sale. The inability to find something you have purchased unless you remember every title you own is a royal pain for those with large libraries
    • How about adding a few more studios to the filter function, "Other Studios" covers far too many. HBO, Magnolia, IFC, A24, Relativity, Criterion Collection come to mind
    • Ability to sort owned titles by resolution (SD, HDX, UHD)
    • Add "Start From Beginning" option
    • Wishlist sorting
    • Add a search function to "Balance & History" page
If anyone has noticed any previous features that were removed, or features that need to be added please comment below & make your opinions known to Vudu's Team!

I would like them to add a filter for just the UHD titles in our collections. I mentioned this when I did the beta test for the site but they didn't add it.

    87 UHD
    859 HDX
    3 SD

I mentioned it as well. Also, mentioned the ability to search movies you own.

I agree with all the above recommendations. I do like the new look in many ways and I really like that they added the Tomatometer rating to the information when hovering over a title. My #1 complaint is losing the "Recently Added" option!!

I'm loving the ability to not be able to purchase anything, nor see quality owned. No joke, the options (when signed in) are not there...

I agree, the new site looks great, and I love the fact that we can filter our own collections, and not just all movies like before. I would like to have filters for SD and HDX, so I know what to upgrade! I would also love to have filters for MA and UV. Also, please allow us to combine Genre filters.

I would love a complete my collection! I own 10 James Bond movies, and I would love to be able to own the rest, but I am not re-buying the ones I already have.

Also, there are no MA/UV icons when I hover over a movie's cover art. I miss that.

Something else I would like is the ability to restart a movie from the beginning. If the movie is set to resume, then I have to resume, and then reverse it.

I would also like to be able to see movies I haven't watched. and to be able to set them as watched, or not watched. My wife has never watched Hollywood movies until about 3 years ago when she moved here from China, and it would be very useful to be able to pick out movies that she hasn't seen before. Sometimes I have a hard time remembering.

A couple things I specifically came to post have already been mentioned but I will repeat them that "Yes! A 1000x yes" need to be implemented:
              • A Start From Beginning for ALL apps/devices: mobile, website, console (eg. xbox, playstation), Television

This is necessary, when I go to rewatch something I've already streamed and it's stuck at "resume" only because I forgot to let the credits finish. I thought we were past the VHS "Be Kind, Please Rewind" days, so I don't understand why VUDU doesn't have both a "Start" and a "Resume" button on all their titles.
              • Sort by Quality: SD, HDX, UHD

This would make it incredibly easy to know what needs upgrading in our library for future reference, which equals more money for VUDU in the long run when we decide to upgrade all of our SD titles to HDX (which I've personally started doing over the past year). It would also be good to know in case Movies Anywhere breaks again and runs into a similar glitch like what happened last year when a lot of our titles reverted back to SD.
              • Sort by Specific Rating, not "Rating And Below"

This sorting option is there, but it's flawed. If I want to sort by Action movies and then Rated R movies, it shows all R Rated films "And below", which defeats the purpose of my search. I don't want to see PG action movies in my filter.

Those 3 are my current concerns, but otherwise, good stuff with the updated website. It'll take a bit to get used to as I've used the older version for a few years now, but it seems like a step up.

Please add this to your list. Wishlist sorting isnt A-Z anymore, its now all over the place.

I really wish they would do something to enhance the Balance & History page. It looks different but there is no added function. Trying to find anything in my account history when only 10 appear on a page is a nightmare. This needs a complete overhaul.

I agree and I also think these filters should be stackable, which they already are somewhat, but not to the extent they should be. You can't add more than one filter from the same category (Genre, Year, Rating, etc.)

To add to your example, we should be able to add an additional filter for PG-13 movies. Then you'd be able to see all your action movies that are Rated R and PG-13.

Is Vudu afraid of confusing people by limiting them to one filter per category? The filters already appear at the top of the browser when you add them and they are easy enough to clear by clicking the "X". It shouldn't be an issue if someone for example wanted to switch from a rated R only filter to a PG-13 only filter.

I wish they'd bring back the "Tomatometer" and "Most Watched" sorting options too.

I really wish Vudu would fix their issue with TV shows that port over via Ultraviolet still having the option to buy them!

In my case I bought Rick and Morty Season 1 on Bluray and I had to redeem the UV code through Flixster because Vudu didn't have the UV rights at the time. When they finally added UV rights all my episodes ported over just fine, but I still have the option to buy the season from Vudu. This should not be happening. I share my account with family members and it's confusing when it shows up under "My TV" with the option to buy it. I would like to avoid anyone accidentally re-purchasing it.

The solution is simple, when someone owns every episode from a season of any show, remove the season purchase option and mark it as owned. How hard is that?!
