    Sharing question

Sorry if this has been answered before, I could not find a direct answer using search.

My son and I each have our own VUDU accounts. He only has a few movies in his now, I have a few more - I am new and planning on using the disk to digital feature for my current dvd library. I know my son will add more movies to his account and I will add some to my account and I would like to share them back and forth, but keep the rights to the original purchaser (for when he gets older and moves out - or if we ever have a need to separate accounts).

From what I understand, the sharing feature is a one way feature. I can share to him or he can share to me, but sharing will not allow us to see both our own movies and that of the other correct?

Would a sharing request sent both ways allow this?

If it is only one way, it would make sense to just use a secondary email and crate a secondary VUDU account that is used just to view the shared movies. Would this work? I know it would take logging in and out of each account, but it would do what I want done.

I know this may be basic, but the devil is in the details. I just switched my home over to iOS (and added an Apple TV) and trying to decide which way to go buying digital movies going forward. Family Sharing on iOS is ok, but its more geared toward little kids who would never pay for their own movies (as opposed to teens/preteens who ask for iTunes cards for gifts). I recently was able to use airplay to "cast" my VUDU movies to my Apple TV, the smaller file size download for tablets/phoes and I love the disk to digital feature of VUDU. Both of these items have me leaning towards VUDU.

I just want a way to share movies with my family like we would a family DVD - despite the fact we each have our own phones and tablets/computers.

    Re: Sharing question

sharing is great, but any non UV titles do not share between accounts. Disney,Marvel, Touchstone, Hollywood Pictures and random other titles do not share

      Re: Sharing question

Everything in either account with a UV symbol will be shared. Both accounts will be linked to the same UV locker. For instance, between myself and my brother, we have over 1500 UV movies that we all have access to and I have an additional 100 or so in my account that he does not see.

Actually, I think sharing is one way, the person accepting the invite abandons their old UV locker and connects to the new UV locker, leaving behind his UV movies (if they were acquired from Vudu they will still show up in the one account). It sounds like you are describing a merge instead.

        See this post and thread:

Their movies purchased or redeemed on vudu will stay in their vudu account, but any UV movies purchased or redeemed elsewhere will be not be shared, and they will disappear from their account. Unless you merge their library with yours.
