Has Pretty Woman ever gone on sale?

Was hoping with the Valentine's Sale that the classic movie Pretty Woman would be included, sadly it hasn't. While it is an older film (and seemingly on cable a lot) I would love to get a digital copy of this, but can't see paying $17.99 for a HD version. Has anyone ever seen this title on sale by chance?

The Blu can be had for $6, but there is no digital copy code for this title and it is BVE, which means no disc-to-digital either.

If you're looking for the best price right now, Amazon and Google have it for $15.99 and it'll port over to VUDU via Movies Anywhere.

I want to say it's been on sale on VUDU the past, but I can't verify that.

Disney is by far the worst price gouger out there. I hope the US Government NEVER allows them to buy Fox or any other movie studio. A large part of the incentive of getting behind digital streaming for the studios was that , for them, it would be far simpler and cheaper. No mass disc replication (for digital copies, of course they are still making discs), no cases to print and purchase, no shipping to warehouses, no further distribution to retailers , and most importantly for them NO RETURNS. Which is a big deal in the industry. They deliver a master copy (or maybe two if you want to include UHD) to each digital retailer like VUDU. FAR FAR simpler for them and far more efficient. Not to mention that mastering errors require NO DISC RECALL - they just update the master files.

With that type of cost savings, the original concept was that the studios would provide digital copies at a REDUCED cost compared to physical media, passing on a portion of their overall savings to the customer...

All this being said , that brings me back to your original question. Hell no has Disney ever put 'Pretty Woman' on sale that I have ever seen. The same with most, but not all Touchstone and other live action owned Disney titles. Like Pretty Woman, 'Gross Pointe Blank' is a fun watch, but for $18???? It like over 20 years old now. Terrible.

Make no mistake - Disney does not care about the consumer. Only their shareholders. And their entire business infrastructure from the parks and the films and the stores and the merchandise is all focused on increasing share price. This includes all their franchises including Marvel and Star Wars.

EVERY OTHER STUDIO places a large selection of their titles on a seemingly semi-regular sale rotation where you can get great deals on their digital titles by putting them in your wishlist and waiting. But if you wait for many Disney titles to go on sale, you might have a better chance of seeing world peace.

They are GREEDY BASTARDS. Sorry for the rant. But they have been taking advantage of their fanbase for a long time. The only way you will be able to get a discount on their titles is if you use the coupon codes that Vudu and other retailers release from time to time such as the recent Vudu 20% off coupon. Good luck.

Is "Touchstone Pictures" and "Hollywood Pictures" also owned by Disney? It seems those ones never go on sale but I've been able to buy a few from Google Play when they have their 50% off promotions and they port to Vudu using MA.

        89 UHD
        861 HDX
        3 SD

Yes and they are the worst offenders for high prices and lack of sales.

Thanks for the info - didn't realize Touchstone was owned by Disney - which makes sense as to why this title is so ridiculously priced. I do own it already on disc, but I have been trying to digitize my collection - of course this isn't D2D eligible, and the high price makes it unreasonable to buy again at a digital version. I had hope that it would be part of the Valentine's sale, but given it is Disney-owned, I am now not surprised that it isn't

The struggle is real...All those cartoon titles go on sale but the adult stuff punches right in the wallet.

Pretty Woman is on sale on iTunes for 12.99 and ports to Vudu if you have a Movies Anywhere account linked. Or perhaps Vudu will price match? That would be awesome.

That's good to know. Thx so much! I do have it, but I am trying to keep my collection from Vudu - even with Movies Anywhere not everything seems to port, since Vudu is my main Movie library I would rather buy it directly from Vudu - though at a reasonable price

I have a bunch of Touchstone movies just sitting in my VUDU "Wishlist". Every once in a while I move one over to my Library & I cringe when I do it so I feel your pain, Disney is a "Money Makin Machine W/No Mercy"!!! Their boardroom Motto: "If They Want It, Their Gonna Pay"$$$$$.........OUCH.
