    Disney is being unreasonable.

They have changed their prices 3 times since the implementation of DMA. They have gone from $14.99, to $17.99, and now to $19.99. These titles are too expensive, especially for being digital copies. $20 is physical price. They don't even seem to be involved in Black Friday or cyber sales. They're are at least a dozen titles I want, but $19.99 is too high of an asking price.

some titles have dropped in price as well though there were plenty of titles at a 22.99 price point too, also They are the only studio to do the right thing and set the value as the "product" is the content not the disc. Think about it prior to the early 80's if you wanted to watch a disney movie after its theater run you had to wait for its theater re release. then since the 80's we have had to buy on vhs, Laserdisc, Dvd, HD DVD and bluray now digital, at least with digital you are buying "rights" that extend forever. I have i huge Digital Library and I do not see an issue with disney's pricing structure, i see a bigger problem with the other studios pricing structure. as they devalue the content

That's the 'right' thing to do?? How is overcharging 'doing the right thing'? Physical Media costs money to make. It costs money to make the discs, make the cases, print out the cover art and YET, the physical media can usually be found on sale and for cheaper than a digital download. A Digital Download is clearly a cheaper product as overhead costs are eliminated. Therefore it's price gouging. It's not 'the right thing' at all.

If you think prices are too high, blame the consumer. Companies cannot sell for more than consumers are willing to pay. If enough people agree with you, prices will come down. If enough people do buy at the price that you consider to be gouging, than the price won't lower.

This is why I buy the discs and redeem the codes rather than buy the diital version outright.

Maybe one of the things that hurt digital prices is all the people that buy the physical media then sell the code. The code is only supposed to be used by the person who owns the disc, but we all know it doesn't work that way.

So for every disc sold, you could get two people who own that movie. One a physical copy, one a digital copy.

Maybe they are trying to price themselves to recoup that?

Same here, and I turn around and sell the physical disc to FYE and I usually get about $7 or so for the disc. Movies from Universal Studios and Paramount still give you an iTunes and UV code, so you get 2 digital copy platforms for the price of one by purchasing the physical disc instead of the digital version of the movie. I can't sell my digital movies that I buy, but I can sell my physical discs, so at least I'm able to recoup some of the money I spent, where you can't recoup anything with digital movie purchases.

I think the opposite is true. If the price of the digital version fell, people would be more apt to just buy it right out rather than look for a code. It's the path of least resistance. The easiest thing is to buy it with a click of the mouse. It's the price point that scares people away.

It's the same with comics. I'm a comic book guy. If digital comics on comixology werent the same cover price as the printed books, more people would be jumping on the digital comics.

The only thing that keeps me from selling my discs is the fact that I fear a burst in the digital bubble. I feel secure knowing my physical discs are in a bin in the attic where I can get to them if the day ever comes when UV goes away.

I would bet it's a very small percentage of digital users who sell their discs. Digital movies have been around a while. Digital music has been around much longer. It's harder to find a used copy of a hot album than it is to find a new copy of the same album. People tend to keep them.

On the other hand, I *ALWAYS* sell the 3D version if they bundle it in with the 2D and Digital. I Hate 3D and often they force the 3D on you if you want a Digital Copy. I want that accursed 3D version out of my house ASAP

Similarly, I had a friend give me the DVD out of a combo pack. He only wanted the Blu Ray.

The Pirate Fairy (2014) is priced at $22.99.

This title interests me. The 2 minute preview shows a very crisp series of environments and the story sounds good, but that price is just simply ridiculous.
