Re: Instawatch and Black Friday titles

Just to throw in my two cents and to help this thread get some attention. I bought 6 blu-rays. All of them had the sale UPC code and just rung up as generic movie. Instawatch put
42 The Jackie Robinson Story - HDX
    Doom - SD
    Death Race - SD
    Van Helsing - SD
Legend of Hercules 3D - Not added
Clash of the Titans triple pack - Not added

Instawatch is the reason I switched from my normal habit of buying at Best Buy or Fred Meyer both of which are much more convenient to me. Guess I'll be switching back until they iron the bugs out.

This is a shame really because VUDU is definitely the best system for watching your UV content. Unfortunately their D2D and Instawatch are both glitchy.

InstaWatch to me is only about the convenience of not having to manually add the code that is already included, not about getting a digital copy on Vudu for something that doesn't otherwise come with one.

For those of you who actually stream regularly, I can see it as an issue if it isn't working out. Personally, nearly all of my viewing is at home through my media server and HTPC. Having online access to a digital copy is irrelevant to me 99% of the time, and so I am not much concerned if a small fraction of my physical library is not available in the cloud.

I was successful scanning my instore purchase of Ice Age: Mammoth Christmas that I got for $4 on sale, it added in VUDU in HDX. I don't even find anywhere it being advertised as Instawatch, so I guess I got lucky!

Re: Instawatch and Black Friday titles

I'm surprised anyone can get the Indiana Jones movies to be instawatched. I purchased several at 2 different walmarts resulting in 4 separate receipts. The purchases were a combo of DVDs and BDs, but none were instawatched after I did the savings catcher on all my receipts.

The original UPC code for the Raiders BD didn't show up in their system as I attempted to do as some have suggested to have the store scan it. Since that didn't work I didn't bother with the other DVDs/BDs and just returned the unopened DVDs. At $3.96 for the BDs that was just too cheap, so I definitely kept those.

yep I ran around to three stores. well because some stores did not have copies of the DVD and Blu-rays. oh well. I looked online to see which ones were instawatch then proceeded to hunt for them due to the website said in store only pick up. I got the indiana jones, the transformers, bad santa, turbo, Kill bill vol 1 could not find 2 at any of the stores. hobbit extended ed TDOS and some others. Loaded the receipts in savings catcher receipts verified then nada. I contacted support they asked for pictures of the movies and receipts. Is that what they asked from others as well? sorry for the noob question. .

Yeah, I was asked the same thing when I opened a support ticket for BF titles that gave me SD instead of HDX for BD purchases and inquired as to why the Indiana Jones BD didn't give me InstaWatch copies. I haven't heard back from CS and its been close to a week since I opened the ticket.

Re: Instawatch and Black Friday titles

I had WM scan the "true UPC" for each of the Indiana Jones movies, and my receipt shows the title of each (as opposed to the generic "MOVIE" on the receipt if they scanned the sticker UPC), but the movie never showed up on my Vudu, despite it being IW-eligible.

They want me to submit pics of the front and back of each movie along w/ receipt. They said it'll get added within 7-10 business days.

Silence from support for me. I'll probably call in tomorrow and see as it will be a week since I last talked to them.

                            Finally got a response:

Hello and thank you for contacting Vudu customer care.
I apologize for the delay in response.
I will need to escalate the case to our content team so that they can better assist with adding the digital copies to the account.
In the mean time, please do not hesitate in contacting us back if you have any other questions or concerns.

Re: Instawatch and Black Friday titles

This is taking way to long! May I get the correct UPC codes for the 3 Indiana Jones films and Titanic? I want to take this case up with Wal-Mart. I'm afraid if this goes on much longer and you can't help me, it will be too late for Wal-Mart to help me. I think I may just have them send me the correct films and price match them to the Black Friday price.

It's clear they promoted/advertised them as Instawatch. We don't have another way to redeem them but Instawatch. So the only options we have is for Vudu to just add them to our accounts for free, or Walmart send us the correct films at the Black Friday prices, or Vudu can sell us the films at Black Friday prices and we return the blu-rays we have if possible ( if not open).

                              Thank you,

Did it have the 'sticker' barcode or the real barcode? (Indiana Jones, that is).

The sticker barcode doesn't work with instawatch.
