    Deleting Viewing History

Can you delete viewing history without having to wait 7 days?
Obviously a good function to have if you watch a movie you don't want your insignificant other to know you watched.

Short answer is no. I guess you will have to lock the VUDU with parental controls so she can't see anything.

We've asked multiple times that you can delete rented movies after watching. Guess we'll have to keep asking as a lot of people keep wanting this.

Hmmm, I didn't know. Having this feature might increase revenues for Vudu. There's gotta be a way for adults to watch "___" content without leaving any traces. Maybe some temporary pre-paid "anonymous" accounts to get content securely to the boxes. The folks from Vudu should ask folks in the hotel business how much did their revenue increased from their in room VOD after they removed the movie titles from the hotel bill. They didn't get any money from me... but I heard that revenues increased by a "considerable" amount.

FWIW, After Dark titles do not show up on your billing history, and they do not appear in your Vudu's main interface. Setting aside the Adult content hush hush aspect, there are still plenty of other legitimate reasons to want to delete a recently viewed rental title from your home screen and your "my vudu" screens.

Well, they do show up but only as something like:

            Rent: Movie Title 340683 $5.99

So the number and the higher rental cost gives it away that it's an adult title but there's no actual title shown.

If a movie title has to be hidden from a significant other than there are other probelms that need to be addressed in the relationship.

Right. I keep asking for this feature because I love creepy movies (with creepy movie posters) like The Grudge, and gory slasher movies (with gory movie posters) like High Tension, and I would like to remove them from my viewing history when I'm done so my 6 year old doesn't stumble across the posters in My Rentals. (She knows that she can re-rent something she watched recently via My Rentals.)

Well that's easy. You need a dumber 6 year old.

Oh, we're already a little nostalgic for the days when we could spell out things we didn't want her to hear.

So your issue is with the posters for those movies? What do you do if you walk through a movie theater that has them up on the wall, and much bigger to boot? I have an 8 and 10 year old and I don't think I would have ever been concerned about them coming across the poster for a movie. Now, not wanting people to know you watched a movie I completely understand.

I don't remember seeing a really gross or really scary movie poster in the theater in recent memory...although they're just less prominent when they're on the wall like that than when they're on the screen. I'm just a little worried that a poster like The Grudge could give her nightmares, especially if she clicks on it and sees the full-sized poster; and when she's looking at movies, the screen has her full attention, unlike the wall at the movie theater lobby.

Besides, she's at the age where she gets put to bed, and 30 seconds later comes in our room and says she had a nightmare.

If I went to bed knowing MaxH was my father, I'd have instant nightmares too! I think she is coping quite well actually.
