I am concerned on the res downgrade. As I have titles that are higher res at FN vs VUDU, I likley will hold off on linking FN to MA till that is resolved.
    Then what does this mean?

"4. UV Movies from studios that are not participating in MA will continue to be a UV title."

I hope those non participating studio titles remain UV so I could have the remainder of my D2D titles port to Fandangonow as well. It may be a moot point anyway if all those titles become MA which is likely at this point.

I also don't get how resolutions are supposed to work. I redeemed E.T. in Itunes months ago and it ported to Fandangonow in UHD through Vudu even though it remains only HDX on Vudu. You only get downgraded if you redeemed your UHD title on Fandangonow? This is really confusing. Why does everything seem to work on Apple's end but everything else is such a cluster?

Even with all the kinks ironed out, Fandagonow still has a lot of work to do to make their app usable. Their app support, interface, and sorting options are not that great.

All UV will come into FN if FN has the title as a UV title (even if they don't show the UV icon).

UV that is not MA will export from FN as UV.

Only things still UV at FN are TV and UV exclusive titles. Anything that is UV/MA is only MA at FN even if it was UV before and will only export as MA.

Me too, I haven't linked FN to MA as of yet because I really can't see any benefit at this point. Maybe sometime in the future when all the issues have been resolved.

          • Any UV codes redeemed or purchases made at FN that are HD at FN but only SD at Vudu where Vudu then ported them to MA as SD. Like 'Dark City (Directors Cut)'.
I actually had the opposite experience. I purchased Dark City (Director's Cut) and Time Machine (1960) at FandangoNOW in HD but since they are only SD over at Vudu, they originally ported to my MA library as SD copies. However, after linking FandangoNOW to MA both movies were upgraded to HD over at MA.

Actually, most of the TV Seasons have lost their UV status as well.

Touchstone & many Disney titles are $3 cheaper there. I just removed a bunch from my wishlist in Vudu and added them to my list in F.N.

Anyone know if the downgrading of resolution (UHD-HD @ FN but only HD-SD @ VUDU) when linking FN & MA has been resolved? Haven't seen anything on this lately and don't want to loose what I purchased.

I'd like to know this as well. Until there is confirmation, I am refusing to link FN to MA.

I actually got a call from a MA support engineer a couple of weeks ago and this is one of the things we discussed. He said he would notify me once this has been resolved but I haven't heard back so I'm assuming it hasn't been resolved. Therefore, I still haven't linked my FN and MA accounts.

I have MA linked to FN and MA, I have not experienced this issue yet. However, my UV has an UHD title, that ported to FN as HD, even though they have it in UHD.

Thanks for the info...if you happen to get a reply back from MA please post here so all of us that haven't linked yet can do so when the issues resolved.

All I know is...I'm not linking FN & MA until UHD ports in both ways with no problems.

I redeemed The Last Jedi in 4K on MA this morning and it ported to FN in UHD. I haven't tried redeeming anything in FN to see if it ports out, as I rarely use FN. Is there a list of certain titles this is happening to?

From my understanding this is happening to UHD titles redeemed or perhaps purchased directly from studio sites. For example from Sony direct. I have not heard of this issue having any effect from titles purchased or redeemed at retailers that are in the MA infrastructure (Vudu, itunes, Amazon, etc)
