Not sure if anyone else noticed, but the VUDU Player 2.0 app update for iOS finally hit the App Store today! Adds iPhone 5 screen size support, offline download and playback and Closed Captioning for iPhone. Not sure what took them so long, but there you go...

Not that you would want to do this unless you had unlimited data, but is it strange that you get a message that says you have to be on WIFI to watch any of the movies through the app ?

There was an older app that let you search the catalog and rent/purchase/queue dowload to a vudu stb. There's a new one that was apparently released 1-6-12. According to the reviews there was an initial problem with it. As of today it was able to stream my library. As the name implies, it is only a viewer. AirPlay video would be cool. But, studios.

The app may still exist on Itunes, but it is no longer supported.

Sorry, let me clarify. You can stream VUDU movies from your Ipad, you won't need an app to do it. You'll be able to log-in to our website from your browser at: www.vudu.com. You'll have the ability to stream SD movies.

Yes. It is supposed to actually download to a Vudu STB but that functionality was broken by the release of Brazil. A bug was filed in the Bug discussion board and Vudu completely ignored it. They did not weigh in with any comments at all as they have with the other discussions on that board. Not nice.

Was the ability to queue a movie to download onto one of your boxes in a previous version of the app? I rented Serenity earlier thinking I'd be able to send it to the box. It ended up only adding it to my account.

Is there anything official from vudu about when or if there will ever be an ipad app?

Is this a vudu issue or does apple not want to add a competitor to itunes?

The netflix app works well but the content is abysmal

The Instant Watcher app for netflix on iphone is so much better! It contains movie art and ability to bookmark titles for future viewing.
