Sony 4k Ultraviolet, Vudu & Movies Anywhere...how I got screwed and nobody is helping

I redeemed 4k UHD digital codes of Sony movies directly on Sony's website, well before Movies Anywhere was a thing. It registered 4k UHD versions of these movies in my Ultraviolet library. It was made clear that the only way to view these was through Sony apps, but Vudu was steadily getting 4k Sony titles added to their library.

In some cases, these titles are available in UHD on services other than Vudu. Once Movies Anywhere came out, I redeemed OTHER Sony 4k UHD digital codes, having been directed over from Sony's website to the Movies Anywhere site. This allowed titles like A Few Good Men and Starship Troopers to appear as UHD through Movies Anywhere partners such as Google/YouTube and Amazon. This is fed through to those services because they are registered at Movies Anywhere as UHD/4k, which can be seen in my transaction history.

Now Sony is supporting Movies Anywhere, with your Ultraviolet licensed movies receiving Movies Anywhere copies, but based on your Vudu UV licenses and NOT your actual Ultraviolet library as seen on myuv.com.

If you own an Ultraviolet movie not in Vudu, you won't be getting your Movies Anywhere version.

As Sony is moving over to MA support, it seems unlikely that Vudu will ever get the 4k/UHD Ultraviolet versions of these Sony titles.

When I contacted Sony directly, they said that MA does not support 4k, which is incorrect...it does not support it for playback, but it does support it as a movie locker.

When I contacted MA, they said they cannot access my Ultraviolet locker from myuv, that it is an issue with Vudu, and to contact them.

Since Vudu doesn't actually have these titles in UHD/4k, I fail to see what Vudu could even do.

Does anyone have a clue how I can get this resolved?

I own these 8 movies from Sony that show UHD on UV but aren't UHD on Vudu:

2012, 21 Jump Street, Godzilla, Looper, Men In Black II, Premium Rush, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, and Total Recall

I don't believe they are 4k on any other site (Google Play, Amazon, or iTunes) but if they become 4k on a MA site I would contact Sony directly to see if we can get a digital code that can be redeemed on MA.

    97 UHD
    860 HDX
    3 SD

I actually tried this when I first noticed I could redeem Sony UHD digital copies through Movies Anywhere, and get UHD copies through Amazon and Google (via Movies Anywhere). Sony basically said "too bad, so sad, you redeemed your licenses on Ultraviolet".

I contacted Sony yesterday, and today's response says....

"Movies Anywhere does not currently support UHD, 3D, 4K or HDR formats. If the movie was redeemed thru Movies Anywhere, eligible UHD digital movie codes will flow to connected Digital Retailers, some of which support UHD such as iTunes and Googleplay.

While redeeming your UHD digital codes is available via the Sony Pictures Store website, UHD version may not port in to Vudu and Movies Anywhere. If the movie was redeemed at Sony Pictures, you can watch the UHD version using Sony Ultra App and a Sony 4K TV."

So they are saying that they make no guarantees that you'll get a 4K digital copy, unless you use their Sony Ultra App.
