I addressed the email to Roma Khanna, President of Television Group and Digital. Who knows if the email will ever be actually forwarded to her, but it's worth a try.

If some of you would also send an email with the same requests, this may help. Probably won't, but the more of us that make some noise, the better.
If i understand the Mgm/UV issues its deeper than just emailing vudu or MGM all of the Uv enabled MGM titles are actually distributed by either 20th century fox or Sony.

Rental only MGM titles that I'd like to purchase, with or without UV rights:

      Once Upon a Crime
      Hackers
      Night of the Comet

I'd also like to get all of the Pink Panther movies, some are available for purchase but others are rental only.

Re: MGM catalog movies for rent only need to change!

My long list of desired rent only MGM movies, with our without UV, are the following:

        Dead Man Walking
        Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
        Mr. Mom
        Return to Me
        A Fistful of Dollars
        For a Few Dollars More
        At Close Range
        Colors
        Cutter's Way
        Falcon and the Snowman
        French Lieutenant's Woman
        Get Shorty
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
        Gorky Park
        Hang'em High
        Mystic Pizza
        Of Mice and Men (1992)
        Radio Days
        Robocop
        Running Scared
        State of Grace
        Thieves Like Us

I have another list of MGM movies I want that are available to purchase, but many of them I will probably wait to purchase WHEN they are UV-enabled and, of course, when I have the money.

The strange thing to me is that MGM has such a huge percentage that are rent only, whereas the other studios do not. Why? Different business strategy? Different licensing agreements compared to the other studios (seems unlikely it would be that much different)? This has probably already been discussed exhaustively somewhere in this forum.

I find MGM's baffling digital strategy as frustrating as many here. I cannot understand why we are unable to purchase so few MGM titles here or on other digital storefronts, when obviously they have no problem furnishing HD masters for rentals. MGM titles likewise for me comprise the majority of my wish list at this point, and I can only hope they change course in the near future and accept money for their incredible library of films.

I also tried sending an email to comments@mgm.com. I wish I could think of a more effective way to let MGM know how much we would like to be able to purchase their titles.

Thanks for sending them an email. Yes, I wish we had a direct way to contact them. Who knows if our emails will ever be read or forwarded to the right person. It would be nice to get a reply back so that we know.

i emailed mgm, but i understand what you are saying too. the mgm distribution deal is a muddled mess. a mess that almost seems created by their competitors to keep the mgm back catalog out of the market place.

On Black Friday, I bought the original Robocop thinking I would be able to load it in, but no dice.

The James Bond catalog isn't UV enabled, just the Daniel Craig ones.

I would love to see the Eddie and the Cruisers films added and made UV.

                        MGM: 46.0%
                        20th Century Fox: 2.0%

                        Warner Brothers: 0.06%

I think I will email this data to MGM. What's up with them? Why wouldn't they want to generate more sales and thus profits?!
MGM is now only 6.5% rent only
