    Paramount movies anywhere

I think Paramount might be waiting to join after they merge with CBS and Viacom.

    #2
Viacom owns Paramount, so I don't see why they would want to wait. How many movies on Vudu are CBS movies? I would assume most of CBS's stuff on Vudu is TV shows, which won't make it to MA.

I am really surprised Paramount and Lionsgate haven't joined MA yet. I guess I shouldn't be since this industry moves at a snail's pace.

Movies Anywhere launched saying more studios are being negotiated with, hope they hurry up. For me personally, it has influenced which movies I purchase and where.

Besides Paramount and Lionsgate it would also be nice to see MGM get on board.

I didn't realize how many titles I owned that were Paramount, Lionsgate and M2M until something like MA comes along and shoves those studios at you as ones they don't participate... lol

Did MGM ever even get with Ultraviolet at any time? If they never even supported Ultraviolet, how are they going to support MA?

              118 UHD
              844 HDX

I think some new MGM titles are UV, but none of the catalog titles. Not encouraging, for sure.

MGM was wishy-washy when it came to UV. I have nearly 50 MGM titles, and from those that are UV include Terminator (1984), Beauty Shop (2005), Misery (1980), Red Dawn (2012), RoboCop (2014), Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2 (2001 / 2003), Poltergeist 2 & 3 (1986 / 1988), Carrie (2013), Hot Pursuit (2015), Barbershop: The Next Cut (2016), and I believe all of the 007 James Bond titles are UV.

I'm personally hoping that every studio from major to independents get involved with MA and that MA expands to include TV shows so everything can be under one umbrella. It's only a matter of time before the studios shut UV down so this is the industry standard now it appears. I purchase a lot of movies even though I also subscribe to services as well. For now, I'm okay with things as they are, but eventually, I want to be able to access all my digital content in one place, though I wouldn't necessarily mind it if Disney decided to make a separate app for the TV shows. If anything, it might organize things better. Less clutter, more value. Seeing as everything is pretty much going all-digital, TV services, Movies, TV shows, Music, Video Games, etc., the more simple the industries make it for the consumer, the sooner consumers will embrace going all digital. I only use DVD now for personal recording purposes, but I haven't bought a movie on DVD in years so with a few exceptions, I'm pretty much down with going all-digital. Like I said less clutter, more value, besides I enjoy being able to access content at the click of a button.
