    Signatures Gone on Forums

Anyone else who has used signatures in their forum profiles notice that they are now gone? I used to have a signature on all my postings but it is now gone and it seems there is no longer this capability?

I think it's been removed for almost a year at this point.

Mine was there two days ago. I know because I referred someone in these forums to a link in my signature.

I'm fine with no signatures. I always hide them anyway. I can get by without profile pictures, too.

I don't know why Vudu would get rid of features all of a sudden with no notice to the customer?

I'm thinking you did notice. Unless you are referring to advance notice. It's their forum. They get to run it however they want. What would be the point of advance notice on eliminating signatures?

I'm talking about advance notice on any kind of changes, not just eliminating signatures. It's just good business practice.

To what end? I guess I'm not understanding you. It's their forum, their rules. I don't see where they owe notice or explanation for anything they do. What percentage of their customers are active users on the forums? I think their resources would be much better suited getting all of the UV complaints and release timeliness issues resolved, than something so trivial as notifying such a minutely small percentage of their customer base that they're taking signatures away on the forums.

Only if you're operating a community forum, not a company forum. To give you my perspective, I've operated plenty of each, and with corporate boards if you decide to make a change and you do not want to put it to a vote as you would generally do with a community forum, you don't announce it beforehand, otherwise people think they can change your mind. The flip side is that you should make certain that the change is important enough that you will stick to it no matter what the reaction. If you're not that determined, then you can ask for input beforehand.

I guess I can just manually put the signature into each posting?

Yeah, I was going to suggest that earlier. I've never understood the point of signatures.
