    Editing Library

I have reached the point where I would like to cull some movies from my digital library. Most were movies that I added via D2D in order to get the discount, a few were just poor choices. At this point, they are just movies that we will never watch, so my preference is to remove them.

Has anyone deleted movies? I am guessing this must be done through UVVU, but thought I would check before I started pushing the delete button.

I have deleted a lot of movies from my account. You can delete movies from uvvu, but that will only remove movies that you added from flixster, cinemanow, ect., not movies you redeemed or purchased on vudu. To remove those, you will have to submit a support request ticket.

This is no longer correct. I remove dupes from Vudu all the time at UVVU. Movies I got in SD from Vudu then added later in HD from Flixster or CN because they weren't HD on Vudu. I've also removed duplicate copies of freebie SD movies I got in their early promotions and ended up upgrading to HDX later. Ever since their last upgrade of the website everything runs perfect and allows you to do what you should have been able to do long ago.

I experimented and deleted a movie and a freebie television single episode show from UVVU several days ago. They are gone from UVVU but still show up in my VUDU library. Was hoping they would disappear, but no such luck. Did you have to do anything else to get them removed?

Will do, but probably will not try to delete movies for again for awhile. Am thinking this is a process that will get cleaned up over time to allow deletion in a single step. I can wait.

If you get a UV title at a place other than Vudu, does it disappear from Vudu when you delete it at UVVU?

Don't know - have not tried that. Both of the titles I tried to delete were acquird via VUDU.

It stands to reason (to me anyway) that it doesn't matter what you do at another site. A movie bought at Vudu will always be on Vudu. The only way I know to delete a Vudu title is to contact Vudu support.

Nope. I deleted an SD movie from Vudu a couple days ago. I was having trouble adding it to my at home cart in HDX so I deleted it. It stuck around on Vudu for a day or 2 but eventually disappeared from all websites. Yesterday I did a search for it on Vudu and it said I no longer owned it. It's not instant with any of the websites from what I can tell. Even unlinking and re-linking does not make them instantly disappear. Maybe you guys just aren't giving it time? Either that or I just have the only UVVU account that works the way it's supposed to

I've noticed Vudu takes the longest to disappear from. Flixster and Target Ticket next. CN it usually disappears right away (if it ever showed up in the first place. That site sucks).

Those old freebie SD movies I eventually upgraded to HDX will also show that I own SD and HDX on Vudu for a few days. Eventually the SD portion disappears.

I get that insofar as we are talking about titles that are unique to VUDU (not UV). For UV titles, I am not sure I understand why the same logic that allows having UV titles populate across the other UV sites does not apply to deletions - if VUDU is interfacing with UVVU for added titles, why not deletions?

Not a huge issue - for now I will just sit on the stuff I would eventually like to cull.

I don't use any sites other than Vudu at all. I also don't share UV with other people. What I'm getting at is that it doesn't make a difference to me whether a title is UV or not. I thought I remember hearing that a title bought through Vudu, UV or not, has to be deleted by Vudu. It seems logical to me that a movie bought elsewhere and deleted at UVVU wouldn't show up in the Vudu library.

I primarily use VUDU, but do use other sites when products are offered that are not available at VUDU. For me, the logical function of UVVU as an interface would be that it would function as a means to coordinate all of my UV titles for both adds and deletes. Seems to make sense that it should work that way regardless of where I access my library or where I add or delete titles.

If I can only delete UV titles from the site I purchased them from, OK. Seems inefficient and contrary to concept of UV, but I can accept that my interpretation of logic does not match up to current UV world.

Again, not a huge problem. I will worry about managing my library as the process continues to evolve.
