Disney Movie Rewards points are not automatically being added through Vudu....

...I redeemed 101 Dalmatians, Big Hero Six, and Tinkerbell & the Curse of the Neverbeast all through Vudu. I did not receive the Disney Movie Rewards points on any of there movies after redeeming through Vudu. All three films did appear in my Disney Movies Anywhere app but the points were NOT automatically added. .

I *DID* receive the points in time. With 101 Dalmatians, I wrote to Disney Movie Rewards and they went in and added the 150 points. With Big Hero Six and Tinkerbell I went into DMR and retyped the code a day or two later and it redeemed the points. Not a huge deal, but it's supposed to be added automatically.

If you redeem a Disney code directly through vudu you are redeeming via Digital Copy Plus which does not include Disney Movie Reward points. If your vudu account is linked to your Disney Movies Anywhere/Disney Movie Rewards account, the movie will also appear on any other linked services.

If you redeem a Disney code via the Disney Movie Rewards site and have your vudu account linked through Disney Movies Anywhere, you will receive the points and your movie will appear on vudu and any other accounts linked through DMA.

If you purchase a Disney movie directly from vudu, and your vudu account is linked to your DMA account, you will receive points (as long as the movie has the blue DMA logo in the description, there are some Disney titles that are not included in DMA and thus have no logo).

    Hope that helps!

This was not the case prior to 101 Dalmatians. Prior to that anytime I'd redeem a movie on Vudu I'd get an e-mail a short time later saying that 150 points had been applied to my Disney Movie Rewards account.

I think you are mistaken, that's not how it is supposed to work. As Qazzaq said, you do get points for purchases through Vudu, but not for code redemptions in Vudu. You have to redeem on DisneyMovieRewards or DisneyMoviesAnywhere to get the points.

Edit: Unless you are talking code redemptions for Disney Movies as part of the Instawatch program, then maybe those give points, but I am not sure on those.

That never happened for me nor anyone I know

It just doesn't work that way.

The only way to get an email that points are added to your DMR account is to make a purchase from vudu, but never from a code redemption. What does your DMR account show for those points? If you got an email, your DMR account should show the movie title then EST (electronic sell through) which is a straight up purchase, and will not list a code because there isn't one. Redeeming a Disney code directly on vudu will never show up in your DMR history (but will show up in your DMA history).

If DMR gave points from a DigitalCopy+ code redemption via vudu (which they do not), they would be allowing double points from every code since each code comes with 2 digital copies, both of which will ultimately add the film to your DMA library: a DMA/DMR code that includes points and a DigitalCopy+ redemption that can be redeemed directly on vudu which does not include points. Older releases included a non-vudu digitial copy (I will refrain from mentioning the service name) in place of the DC+ portion.

Big Hero 6 is the first and only film (at this time) with Disney instawatch. That title comes with a code that also allows you to get 150 points in your DMA account to go with your instawatch redemption. This is the only Disney digital copy release so far that has a single digital copy redemption.

Agreed with the others - I've never heard of redeeming a code through Vudu and subsequently getting reward points...

A few months or so back some Disney movies were "pseudo" instawatch, and were "added' to libraries, but they required the digital code to actually enable the movie. Wasn't sure if when the code was added in this scenario it also redeemed the DMR portion.

I believe that was the same as redeeming the code directly on vudu, but I never tried it.

Like I said, 101 Dalmatians is the first one I didn't get points for (although I did get them after I wrote DMR an e-mail).

If you don't mind, could you take a look in your DMR history at disneymovierewards.com for one of the movies you received an email for.... what does it say? Is there a code listed next to the movie name? Does it say EST next to the movie name? What does the email say?

Now go into your DMA history at disneymoviesanywhere.com and check for the same movie. Does it say VUDU under it? It will say VUDU if you purchased a movie directly on vudu OR if you redeemed a code on vudu. Is the same movie listed more than once? It is possible to have 2 entries if you redeemed more than 1 digital copy (ie entering a DC+ code on vudu, then entering the same code on the DMR site - each one is a separate digital copy).

I'm really perplexed since emails are only sent for EST purchases, never for entering a code on vudu or on the DMR site (edit: emails are also sent if you redeem a DMR code on the DMA site site, and you will of course get points for that).

If you were getting points and emails for code redemptions via vudu, it must have been an error/glitch specific to your account since it hasn't happened to anyone else.

If that was the case, it sounds like it has been fixed now and you are no longer receiving points for DigitalCopy+ redemptions as intended.

Looking forward to hearing back, thank you for checking

Um, by any chance were all of movies you received emails and points for redeemed via the pseudo-instawatch feature that still required code entry? Maybe that is set up differently than normal code redemptions.

I've never received points for codes redeemed through VUDU, however I would just log in to DMR and also redeem the code there and the points were applied.
