The digital copy code is subject to expiration. Once the movie is added to the VUDU account, it will not be removed in the future.
THANK YOU!! I feel much better having that verified!

This is a Sony title, so the digital copy which will be included will be Ultraviolet compatible, and redeemed Ultraviolet movies never expire.

I am not even sure that any Ultraviolet code has ever actually expired (even through many have slipped past their expiration dates), but that I am not 100% sure about. Many other iTunes and other digital copy codes have expired though. Usually the studios are accommodating with this , and if you have an expired and unused code, you can contact the studio customer service, and they will usually provide you with a new code once you send in proof of your existing code.
I really hope you're right. I do feel more secure after reading this.

I did see the same language on a few other movies. Expiration for codes is not new, but maybe they are trying to make it more obvious?

The only thing that would prevent me from contacting Walmart is that it is so bureaucratic, it may take several attempts to even reach the right person if ever.

Re: Digital Copy Subject To Expiration ???? (From Walmart.com)

I don't have a solid answer, but I did some Googling and searching and discovered the following tidbits:
    1) Amazon lets you pre-purchase the Blu-ray with a UV Digital Copy. No fine print mentioned about the UV copy being subject to expiration.
    2) Why doesn't the VUDU pre-order page for Chappie mention that this is a UV release? Is the VUDU pre-order of Chappie *not* UV-compatible? If I was the type of person who liked to pre-order movies through VUDU, I would want to know whether I'm paying for a VUDU-only movie, or a fully UV-compatible movie.

I suspect that the fine print on the Walmart page is poorly written. Someone at VUDU might want to pass along that bit of feedback to them. Wording things improperly can change the meaning significantly.

I sure hope you're right. Otherwise it confirms every Digital Copy naysayers worst fears.

DIGITAL COPY SUBJECT TO EXPIRATION????? WHAT THE EFF????

I have been a Vudu cheerleader for a good while now, and I have dismissed the "Physical media Only' people as being paranoid. Now this changes everything. I am NOT happy about this at all!

Isn't it just as likely that it's referring to the fact that unredeemed codes expire?

I just saw that the movie 'Chappie' is available for pre-order on Walmart.com. This is *VERY* upsetting.:

    About this item
Every child comes into the world full of promise, and none more so than Chappie: he is gifted, special, a prodigy. Like any child, Chappie will come under the influece of his surroundings - some good, some bad - and he will rely on his heart and soul to find his way in the world and become his own man. But there's one thing that makes Chappie different from anyone else: he is a robot. the first robot with the ability to think and feel for himself. His life, his story, will change the way the world looks at robots and humans forever.

    Digital Copy Subject To Expiration.
