    UHD UPGRADES!

VUDU needs to step up to the plate, GP bout to hit this UHD thing out the park with iTunes.

Don't get so excited. They only provided upgrades to the UHD movies you already had in Vudu, at least for me. I don't have any UHD in Apple or Fandango, so I can't speak to them

At this point, I'm more worried about all my non MA titles and TV shows on Vudu if it ends up falling behind a third or fourth tier service than I am about upgrades. I can't imagine people who were gushing about ITunes popularity can say the same for Google's service. What gives?

Question will 4K Superman 1978 and 2001 1968 become available on Vudu in 4K before the Disc Release ?

so it's official.... Google to offer free 4k upgrades.... but.....

In order to be eligible for the 4K upgrade, titles must have been purchased or redeemed from Google Play or YouTube.

sooooo, that makes it pretty worthless for me....

          oh well.

I know nothing can like this can be officially commented on by Vudu, but they really should be paying attention. This is killer. Make the deal with the studios and do right by your customers

Yep, there is almost no reason to buy a MoviesAnywhere compatible movie on VUDU unless its super cheap now since both Itunes and GooglePlay will upgrade it to UHD for free.

Utterly awesome! but like you said, it don't mean a damn thing to me. When is Vudu gonna wake up & smell the competition?

Here's the official word if you want to read it & complain that you didn't decide to commit to a different provider.

Yeah, this could pretty much end my spending on this site. I like Vudu and would prefer to keep using it as my primary service, but I can't ignore better quality at a lower cost.

Ok people how is everyone betting...will VUDU follow suit on the upgrades or ignore what the competition is doing?

I bet Vudu will match it eventually, but there is still the problem of Vudu not having nearly as many movies in UHD as there is elsewhere. iTunes has over 300 more UHD titles than Vudu and the difference keeps growing, mostly because iTunes is offering many catalog films in UHD.

It`s only movies from Fox,Warner Brothers,Lionsgate,Sony and NBC Universal that may be upgraded, the movies must have been purchased from google play, and any Sd movies must have been purchased before today. I had exactly 1 out of my 133 google play purchased movies upgrade to 4k today.

Right now, google has Very few 4k movies.

I used to purchase and redeem codes on Vudu only. After the iTunes upgrade program, and the introduction of movies anywhere.. I started to purchase movies at iTunes because of their stellar sales of uhd movies at $5.. and then I saw that google play started offering uhd movies as well, and still with a better price point than Vudu l, I bought a few movies here and there at google play.. and now with google?s own upgrade program.. I honestly don?t see any reason to purchase any movies at Vudu unless I get the Tmobile Tuesday codes.

I hope Vudu follows iTunes and google, because I would be purchasing my movies from google play and iTunes now.

I still buy disc's because the quality is better!

I feel about the same as everyone else. I was exclusively Vudu for a long time. Now I purchase and redeem most things through iTunes for the 4K upgrade. Now I've picked up a few things from GooglePlay for the same reason. There is no reason to buy or redeem through Vudu at this point
